I even got designing a course mainly because the worst football match in the history of the champions league was on. 2 holes in and I'm shocked it actually looked nice!!! So I deleted it can't have nice looking course on my GNCD list

Ok..so think I can say this without it being a "spoiler". My idea is a plantation style course with a "South Carolina feel". My wife was watching me work on it some last night, and I explained the contest (why nothing is going to get done around the house for the next 45 days) and my ideas about the way I wanted the course to look and play. While describing it I called it "Cackalacky Plantation". While I was joking, she is adamant that I should keep it as the course name. Not sure that's going to stick...lol.
Just thought it was funny. Carry on...
*note for those not in the know: the Carolinas are, in some circles, referred to as Cackalacky... i.e. South Cackalacky.

I'm edging towards a Welsh named countryside theme with a railway track

I was thinking "The Course With No Name" ... but then it would need to be in Desert theme :-)

Got a good start going for this I think. Built a little pocket of the course with a green, next tee and some of the surrounds... Basically will set the theme for the rest of the course hopefully. Normally takes me a good while and several restarts before I settle but this feels good already . Nice to work on something new again

Good progress last 24 hours..... Theme, coloration & name sorted.... Front 9 mapped out & first 4 holes laid tee to green. Enjoying the theme which I've not used before - loving the feel of the overall creation.

Like Sam, I'm using a theme I had never used before. I haven't decided yet about the colours, but the laying of the holes is advancing nicely. Feeling really confortable with some new techniques I'm using thanks to this community, this is going to be real fun

My schedule for this got thrown off just a bit because of wife's birthday (May 5th) when she decided she wanted to go shopping in Destin. 1 day lost. Compounded that by spending the next day on a *!~*!**^! retaining wall. My OCD cost me another day because I wanted minor stuff to look a certain way. Sigh.....
I'm going to love this course if I can pull it off and get it published in time...IF.

Looks like we're all pretty happy with what we've got going on. Which is awesome. Can't wait for 20+ new courses to pepper in the rotation.
Myself I've got 5 holes on the go and a lot of extracurricular work. Course itself should be quite traditional, but outside the course probably not. I'm thinking there will definitely be some quirky ideas submitted to stand out a bit.

I've got 1-5 laid out and some sculpting done and 15-17 laid out this will be drastically different than anything else I've done I'm hoping nobody else will be doing something similar so far I'm happy with it but honestly I'd love to do a more open course but I don't know how exactly to pull my idea off without it looking sloppy sigh ... The par 3 holes are going to be the best I've ever done
