CC Courses

I'd like to make a suggestion where CC is split into two seperate brackets so the higher bracket have to play harder course which would prepare them for web in the future.

So ccz, e and d in the lower bracket and c,b and a in the higher.

I'd be interested in seeing how other people feel about this idea.

The problem (for lack of a better word, too strong of a word) is the structure of CC. It's a large group of diverse players of all skills. There are people constantly ending up over par every tournament no matter the course. They need to play the easier ones or they would just lose interest and we would lose members. These players shouldn't be punished by having to play tough ones all the time. Some may never get better at the game, they may have a medical issue (arthritis, Parkinsons, or whatever) that prevents them from progressing in the game beyond where they are now. Yet they love playing golf, they found this site and love the competition, leader boards and stats and they keep plugging away.

Here is my twisted idea that really means nothing lol

CC-A, CC-B and even CC-C. All play Web courses, the ones Web are playing or even a week behind. The A & B tiers are to groom us so to speak for Web, have us play the courses we are going to be playing if we ever make it to Web. Even do away with the strikes in A and B. Bring in the cut line and maybe adjust that a bit by say if you miss the cut say 5 times in a row, then yeah you get demoted. Groom us for the future is my idea.

CC-D, E and Z play easy courses all the time. Those who perfect their game will move up and those who don't may still get some enjoyment of this site which has added a whole new dimension to TGC.

Hmm so this idea seems to have been said before.

I like it.

Think it's needed, would serve a couple purposes. Groom/prepare us in the higher tiers for Web, keep those in the lower tiers happy and interested in the game. And most importantly I would hope would calm some of the complaining down. "This course is too easy, this course is too hard"

I think you would still get the complaints. Tough job to keep 600 + happy.

I do think that it should be split but i also appreciate the work that would involve. I'm just happy that we have a tour.

Yeah its great having a good community and site like this.
I agree it would be a lot of work but might make course selection easier

I usually speed golf the CC events when im bored. From what i've seen its a good mix.

I think that having more firmness settings (10) in the designer instead of just the 3 would make a massive difference. Maybe HB studios could work on this for a future update or even The Golf Club 2

I think it would make sense to split the CC and with hundreds of suitable courses out there, there would be more than enough to give the higher A B C ? a different course other than the ones being used for web.

I think this debate has been done so many times the chances are it wont happen.
