I'm updating on TGC right now, seems like a fairly large one, any idea what it is?

I see no patch notes... I just played an interesting shot on firm greens. LW 30 yards into the wind, no loft. It hit the left edge of the cup, spun left around the back and then spun 30 feet down a hill. I don't get spin using a loft on firm greens with no loft. Was very odd. Replay shows it hitting the back of the cup and spinning back 20 feet the other way.

They only sent the patch to your steam to fix all of YOUR problems. Nobody else gets this patch.

This is STEAM related. I personally doubt we'll get anymore significant update for TGC tbh.

This is STEAM related. I personally doubt we'll get anymore significant update for TGC tbh. Anthony did say last night that another update will be coming, and without risking misquoting him, I believe he mentioned he wanted to include optimizations and a fix for the elusive loft shot. They just face the problem of changing the game too much which could drive away the more casual player. Only then would the future of the golf club be considered, in the form of a sequel being created, or continuing work on The Golf Club in a way that keeps the money coming in. I have no idea when these updates will be coming, but I do have faith that HB are truly passionate about what they have created, and Anthony mentioned lots of things that he wanted to include "Driving Range, Ghost and Live players visible on courses, hitting a 3 wood off the tee being a viable option, etc. However, whether these ideas will ever be included in TGC or TGC2 remains unknown.

How is 3w not a viable option today? Hit several on the Belfry this week on the TST. Some tricky tee-shots in cross winds.

Yeah..."Driving Range" is something that is "coming soon" since a year ago LOOL. I have no faith at all in another update Besides I kinda hope there'll be no more updates, cause if they truly want to eradicate loft they'd have to come up with a completely new tempo swing mechanic to allow consistently less than 100% swings. Otherwise (i.e. being able to swing only 100%) the game will become the most realistic version of Everybody's Golf ever made Plus with every major change there's a major screw up risk that I'll prefer not to face after the recent updates On a pure commercial standpoint I'm pretty sure that the smartest thing to do will be working on TGC2 and make money instead of wasting time on a game that as close to 0 sales potential right now. In fact HB is already involved in other project like the snowboard game...hence no further update to TGC imho

How is 3w not a viable option today? Hit several on the Belfry this week on the TST. Some tricky tee-shots in cross winds. I am merely echoing what was said by Anthony last night in his stream, so anything I add is purely conjecture. That said, I imagine he is referring to the driver being too accurate to hit straight off the tee, so dropping 20 or so yards with the 3 wood isn't a viable option since you can find the accuracy you need with the driver at all times. I use the 3 Wood on the tee too, but only when a driver is going to take me past the fairway. Like I say though, it was Anthony who stated this, don't shoot the messenger
