After a successful -5 on Mount Yeti, I decided to have 3 practice rounds at Whispering River before taking it on for real...
Final practice attempt hit the 2nd best score ever of -15... Then in the real round end up with a measly -5 in comparison.
Not only would that have put me 2nd in the leaderboard for round 2 it would have broke me into the top 10 overall!

I did the same thing. 6 under in practice round on Kodiak and 2 under in tournament.

We all have different goals, but as a player who believes he can make the top tours with a little room to spare, I would be very happy with -2 on Kodiak. That will be a moving day score vs the masses in my opinion.

I would have to say practicing does help...course knowledge goes a long long way. There's holes I don't bother challenging for birdie, and holes I know where and how to attack. I think Copper Creek and Crawford Mines are the two courses where knowledge pays off the most.
The competition on here is exactly what TGC needed.
Thanks and continued good luck to all.

Well I'm in it for the fun of it all and nothing else....just as well given that I'm challenging for the wooden spoon at over par on 4 courses so far.....ho hum :-)

I hear ya NC, it is a tough decision when to play the round that counts. During the regular season I bet I scored better on my practice rounds than I did on the round that counts. But one thing is for sure, when I first pick up the controller to start playing, I do need to work out some kinks in my swing until I get warmed up. Sometimes when I start a practice round on a familiar course and I start out hot, instead of keep playing the practice round I will quit it and go play my real round before I cool off. As for the first two rounds in Q-school, I played one full practice round then go play the real round. Just made the decision and stuck to it. Of course I have already been practicing on the courses for 2 months now, so I know them intimately. It did work out for me so far, but that is just luck too. I could have easily played worse but I didn't. Got 4 more to go, hope the trends sticks. Good luck out there.
