Hey Pitt...Played this a couple days ago and loved it. Very clean course. Felt like I was out on a real course. Great work with the brick wall. The planting was just minimal and perfect for what you did here. I enjoy many variety of courses, but there's something nice about playing a course that is just a golf course. i like the flash and eye candy, but when I play a course like this I feel like I'm really out there playing. I agree with Duke, it's on the easy side for the PGA guys, but still so enjoyable. This should be on a lower tour stop in my opinion. Super job! Thank you for this great course. This is exactly how I feel. Really prefer the real courses or real looking over the fantasy look. Fantasy ok as long as it's not outrageous.

Welcome back to Steamshovel Golf Club. Named after Charles "Steam Shovel" Banks, this design takes cues from some of his unique work. Banks was an understudy to both C.B. MacDonald and Seth Raynor, and was known for his use of a steamshovel to create extremely steep banks and slopes on his work. Upon Raynor's death in 1926, Banks was dealt the task of completing over 10 of his works in progress, including Fox Chapel Golf Club (an RCR which I developed). The course still focuses on classic ideals of design including a Cape, Redan, Biarritz, and Short, among others. This relatively flat layout is set at "medium-firm" firmness and a faster green speed of 8.0 than it's previous TGC versions. It still remains a gentle course and low scores are common. I've had thoughts of making it more difficult, but I'll leave that to my next design, which comes in a week or 2.
When I first designed this track on TGC 1, I wanted to create the feel of an old, prestigious club that stayed. The course requires thought over power. Each hole needs a plan to score well. It might take a couple rounds to appreciate the beauty of these timeless design concepts. Angles are paramount to scoring as pins can all be attacked from the correct portion of the fairway. Some greens have severe areas, but none around the cup.
As we all do, I found some things I wanted to change over time on TGC 2019. I tried my best to keep the feel and flavor of the track, but make some upgrades to holes that didn't quite suit my eye after 3 years. The routing and par stayed identical. Major changes took place on #4 (road), #5 (straightaway), #8 (long, was previously plateau), #11 (cape), and#13 (punchbowl) during a TGC2019 edit. On 2K, I had to make changes to keep aesthetics where I wanted them. Light rough was extended to the lower lying waste area (heavy rough) to create contrast. It likely made the track a little easier, but it's never been designed to punish anyway. I also added a river to create a better atmosphere to the left of the par 5 18th hole. It really doesn't come into play, but it seems better to me.
I appreciate any feedback and thoughts.

Excellent news. I'm litteraly your understudy 😂. I never even knew what templates were or who Seth Raynor was before I played this, Fox Chapel and your Charles Banks GC. Very much looking forward to your new course and I'm going to play the "secret" beta tonight.

After checking on the play count on Ps4, I've got 27... Had thousands on every other TGC game. Can someone give me a bump through societies? Here are some screenshots of the updated version: #1 Double Plateau #2 Corner #3 Short, #4 Road #9 Alps #11 Cape

I’ll try and get you on TaylorMade, one of the heavy hitter societies on PS4. I got you on Maximum Daily Oct. 10 our last event before our finals. Hope this helps and gets more eyeballs on the course for you.
