Montreux G&CC â Reno, NevadaHome of the PGA Tour's Barracuda ChampionshipCourse Par: 72 Course Yardage: 7396 Fairway: Max Firmness Greens: Medium Firmness with 172 Speed Golf course designer: Jack Nicklaus Construction: Paragon Golf Course Construction (A Jack Nicklaus Company) Design features: Traditional golf course layout in a combination high desert and pine forest setting. Unique features: The signature "Bear Trap" is a dramatic trio of holes 15, 16 and 17 with breathtaking mountain views and undulating greens. It is the only stop on the PGA Tour that uses the Modified Stableford scoring system. First, I need to thank theCLV for his insight into creating an RCR course. I probably would have taken on this creation if it wasn't for him. Thanks bud, much appreciated. This is the hometown premier course where I live in Reno, Nevada. It is the venue for the PGA Tour's annual Barracuda Championship, the only event with modified Stableford scoring. This event takes a back seat on the tour because it is held the same week as the Firestone. But this course is stunning in real life. It would be impossible to replicate its beauty in a video game. This is my effort to recreate it for The Golf Club. Everything about the course itself is as close to real life as I could get. I maxed out the planting bar so much that I had to remove the cart paths. There was more I wanted to add, like furniture, more buildings, etc but could not. I will be releasing a Pro Tee version this weekend. I hope everyone enjoys the course.

I looked the course up on the web and am playing it now. It looks pretty accurate from the first couple holes.
I know how hard it is to make a RCR. Great job from the pics!

Enjoyed the course m8. Only negative I have is that I suffered a lot of lag on it. Could be my Internet. Not entirely sure.

Gave it a run this morning. -7 with 1 bogie (on the par 3 11th i think) tough green there. Have no idea what the real course looks/plays like but I enjoyed your version.

Played this again this morning before work and really like this course. This is great work Jimmy. I love the challenge here and the variety of shots needed, and how you have to really think about some of your approach shots. Very well done! I agree with bigned56, this is a tour worthy course in my opinion.

Played this course rather fast tonight before I signed off for the night. I two putted and struggled on greens/elevation changes, even in a 7 to 12 mph wind event, to only shoot a couple under par (-1). However, I concur with others and see a potential in this course with different areas for hole locations and such different elements/conditions for further play. A great design of this real-life course which got me playing it in the first place.

Thanks for the great comments, happy to see everyone has enjoyed the course. Hopefully it will host its native event, the Barracuda Championship, here on TGCT Tours.
