If this is the one I have just had a wee go at, I dare you all to have a quick look at my "journey" on the 5th hole. A lesson in perseverance!!

Well if this was real and hmammoth knew anything outside of cork actually existed! But as mentioned before the course doesn't exist so probably doesn't matter! Confused? Yeah grand time for bed

Not only is Killarney a fictional course but not not many people know this, it's set in a man made part of Ireland. Country Kerry was once part of Cork, known as west, west Cork. The Irish government was desperately in need of money at the time and came up with the idea of a traditional Irish team park. They needed land for this park, so they bought west, west Cork for the price of a six pack of Beamish, two bottles of Tanora, and some Clonakilty black pudding for every citizen of Cork. Then then populated the now renamed Kerry with ginger haired, Aran sweater wearing actors and thought them to speak with a funny accent that no one could understand. They then invented some theme park like areas where tourists could see a goat become king, where desperate singles could met a match maker to help them find a farmer of there own and other such events. The tourists flocked in, despite a number going missing in the Ring of Kerry( a nasty maze that goes in a constant circle, designed to stop the Kerry actors from leaving) they kept coming and lots of money was made.
It was then things started to go wrong, The actors started putting on airs and graces. Started really believing get they were from Kerry, they demanded the right to vote, to a share in the tourist money, to have their own hurling team. This last demand backfired when the sight of 15 farmers running and screaming through the fields carrying sticks started scaring the tourists away so as a compromise, they were given a football instead. This revolution was headed by the Healy Rae family, mobsters who are a law onto themselves. Recently a assassination attempt was made on one of the heads of the family when a trained killer dressed as a cow narrowly failed on its mission. This attempt had the reverse affect and pushed the Healy Raes into the spotlight and talks into actually becoming part of the Irish government. The sight of the Healy Reas on the back of a lorry with fiddles and bagpipes outside government buildings sent shivers down the spine of the people of Dublin. It's a worrying time for Ireland, fears of a Kerry man coup are all to real. This is the true history of Kerry, so fellow webbers, be careful as Ye approach Killarney for the first time, the greens are not the only thing you have to worry about.

Has anyone set up a practise tour for Killarney? I played the Thursday set up earlier and shot a 64 in quite strong winds.

I struggled badly in rounds one and two of yours but found it easier for the 'weekend' rounds. As for the other tourney setup - which may more accurately reflect the actual tournament pin locations - I started much better with a score that would probably see me make the cut. The weekend wasn't bad what with Saturday's light wins a real bonus. Sunday the wind started to blow and that made for hard scoring conditions. All in all, I think both versions are a good test on what is a great course. Cheers!

I was going along quite nicely on the Sunday setup, -4 thru 10 then 3 consecutive bogeys and a double put paid to that. Had another bogey on 18. Found Wednesday thru Saturday fairly straight forward. Pins were more difficult c/w wind on Sunday, made it much more challenging. Think there'll be some very good scores next week. Looking forward to it
