Now open for business Blue Whale Bay, if winds are up on this tropical course it will play extremely difficult, please rate and enjoy, you can shoot 65, or 85, good luck!

Really enjoyed this one! Lots of risk and reward shots, some of which caught me out, but even though I went in the water a couple of times it was still a pretty fun round. Always had a soft spot for Tropical courses anyway, mainly because of how good the coastline looks, but you've really brought it into play here, nice work. Oh, and I only shot level par in not very strong winds, so I could see how there might be some big scores posted when they're not so friendly.

Got a chance to play the Blue Whale a little bit ago! Opened up on the first tee, lovely view, nice misty, overcast day to enjoy a round and see what this course has to offer...
I thought the designer had a very good imagination on hole routing.. Really enjoyed the small fairways and the smallish greens throughout. I had a wind from 7-10 throughout the round and thought when and if the wind picked up that's when this course would show its teeth more... well I couldn't make a putt or a shot for some reason to save my life the entire round ha ha... Must have been the pork chop and tater supper I had before playing but that's another story..>ha..
4th tee, I loved the view but the same tree variety kind of put it off a tad..not really but I did notice the same tree in front of the tee area for the most part...don't get me wrong didn't detract from the round at all, just throwing out a little tidbit here and there..
7th hole I thought was a gorgeous hole...very nice
8th: I snaked in about a 30 plus footer for birdy and got a little cocky...
11th: I almost aced it, rolling to the right side of the hole, stopping a short 6 feet away, MISSED the darn birdy putt.. I guess that's what I get for getting cocky there on the 8th...
12th: I eagled this bad boy and thought OH yeah I got this.... 16th I reached a double bogie and hadn't even reached the green yet... this course chewed me up and spit me out there.. ha ha ha... I deserve it
All in all I thought this was a very nice course, you can tell the designer has a good grasp of the tools, only thing I would say it a little variety on the planting in spots (others it was great) and a little variety on the bunkers.. most were constructed very well, just a few holes had the same shape in a few spots...I loved the small raised greensites...there were some very intimidating approach shots on some tucked pins (hole one comes to mind) I really enjoyed the course and think you did a great job here.. Definitely worthy of more plays in my book to see what others think..
the whales that were jumping around I really think they began laughing at my round toward the end..lol
Great work sir...enjoyed it

I played this course yesterday. I must say that despite the fact that I prefer more open courses, this one is a nice track and fun to play. The only I think should be taken in consideration is the (IMO too big) amount of tee views blocked by the planting.
Other than that, i enjoyed my round here. Well done, and thanks for sharing

Was asked to play this course a couple of weeks ago but time restraints meant I only got around to it today. It's a interesting course, no doubt the designer wanted his own stamp on a tropical and for the most part it works. There is a nice variety of hole types as in long and short holes, risk reward holes and holes where you route is pretty much predetermined. Water comes into play on most of the holes and that's where my first issue with the course comes in, for me, there was to much water. I would have liked a couple more holes with no risk of getting wet, just for a change more than anything else. I have no issue with the holes themselves, they were well designed, thought had to go into shots, wind had to be taken into consideration more than usual and they were fun to play. I just wanted a break from going over or near water from time to time. The greens were fine, pin positions well thought out and good approach shots brought good birdie chances. I played in light to medium winds and could see some of those birdie chances been blown away in a strong wind, which is the way it should be. I found the course a little dark and claustrophobic at times, the big trees seemed to take away some of the light but that's a personal thing and does not take away from the course at all. Overall, I found Blue Whale Bay to be fun to play, a little different from a lot of tropical courses. I found myself thinking about my shots, both tee and approach more than usual which had the affect of forcing me to focus more which had more scoring some good birdies. The one time I lost focus, I ended up in the water and dropped two shots. To me, something that can only improve my game. Well worth a play, I also think would be a great course for match play, risky shots abound to either force a opponent into a mistake or to try pull shots back if behind, give it a go.
