Round 1- Started out with par on #1 & par on #2. Started to think that it was going to be one of those rounds. With a course like this, birdies are critical and I felt like it was already beginning to slip away.
Then BOOM! Eagle, eagle, eagle on the next three holes and an additional birdies on hole #6. I was sitting 7 under after 6 holes. Went on to finish the round with a handful of birdies and one more eagle for a total of -15.
I hope I will be able to get to my second round tonight and keep the momentum going.

Just a note for you regular guys: Marc Fischer's R1 57 is a valid score even though his scorecard says 66. Suffered a glitch during his rounds. He has pics to back up the score and our system auto verified the 57 it before it was overwritten. Don't want a big to-do over it so posting here to curb the pitchfork gathering

Pretty sure it was -10 really. Can but hope it wasn't just god awful playing.

Well my whole report changed after my last hole. I was happy enough with -7 at that point. -20 would have been in a good position for me I think. My first bogey of the tournament on that final ruined that round for me. It had already been frustrating with so many putts and chip not dropping but I was still in a good mood. The last hole killed the mood. I'm still yet to get an eagle too and when you look at the hole stats that's really costing me here.

Well I followed up my shameful -9 on the first round with a solid -9 on the second round! To all the people playing web this week this makes perfect sense . Left a couple out there missing a 5 footer for bird and made a balls of the last par 5 poor flop and a worse putt but this I can let slide as I never expect to make everything. Absolutely no Idea what the cut will be think we can through my -14 guess out the window surely it will be the high teens don't think it will break 20 but we will see. Gun to my head I'd say -17 but could be anywhere from -15 to -20. Watchers Reports are going to be fun tomorrow cheers mrooola

Never would have imagined this scenario coming in to the event, but the winds surely did its part. I shot a -16 in the first round and even then I missed 2 easy birdies and lipped out an eagle. Round 2 was more up and down for me, but ended the round with a respectable -8. Then I played 2.5 holes on round 3. A 92% tee shot on #1 made me work for a Par. Lipped put the bird on #2. Another 92% on my approach on #3 made me quit for the day... Let's see where that will end up. Good luck everyone!

Watcher of the Watchers Report 41 Hours RemainingAbsolute Madness this week Round 1 & 2 you would think looking at the scores we were playing 2 different courses! Also tagging isn't working for some people on the posts so sorry if i miss you thats why! With 34 watchers still to finish out the Watchersafe Zone is -19 -18 is at 89% to make the weekend needless to say I'll take that after been 76th after round 1. -17 is at 65% to make the weekend who would of thought danandsons would have a nervous wait after his opening 55? -16 is at 47% to make the weekend looking like the cut will be in a shot of here nervous times for Stoner & Co. -15 is a 21% shot don't think it will cut it rather get cut unfortunately for the 15s club. -14 9% but lets be realistic its a 0% chance. -13 has been unlucky as theyve already got the snip. I'm not sure if we should thank mrooola or the wind god's for the highly unusual first 2 rounds but its defo made things interesting this week!

I skooled all my fellow watchers a few weeks back playing both my rounds with in the last hour or so and taking the halfway lead... Will never happen again and I only sat at the top for about an hour... But what a great hour that was :-D

When I hit my first shot of round three I was hopeful of birdie, when I saw where it landed, I was hoping for par. The first two holes have caused me problems the last couple of days and today was no different. I made the par and was happy to move on. The second nearly brought eagle, my pitch shot ran over the edge of the cup, if it had hit the flag it might have dropped, instead it rolled of the back of the green. I was left with a straightforward chip which dropped for birdie. I got that sound that no one likes to hear on my drive on three, off the ball went to the right to land in the bunker. A under hit bunker shot left me short of the green a under hit flop left me short of the cup. My par putt was breaking heavily but I got the line right for a good par. Yesterday, a long range eagle putt on the fourth kick started my round. Today it was a chip in from fifteen yards, here's hoping it will bring the same good form from yesterday. My backswing on the fifth jerked, stopped just over half way, I was to late to stop my forward swing and hit less than eighty percent, the ball just reached the fairway. My approach was not great leaving me a nasty twenty foot putt that somehow dropped for birdie. The same swing issue caused me to hit the water on the sixth, I restarted my playstation and that seemed to fix the issue but it was frustrating to lose a shot from that rather than poor play. I threw me off my game, on the seventh I spent more time worrying about my swing than thinking about my shot that I never came close to birdie. I needed to regain my focus. I trusted my natural swing on eight which resulted with a tap in birdie, now I needed to move on a pick up shots when ever I could, that was not going to happen on nine, I just wanted a par from that monster hole and that's what I got.
I missed a easy putt on ten, just four feet and it broke more than I thought it would. That was very disappointing and put a dampener on my round. It was vital I pick up a shot soon, both for my scorecard and my confidence and thankfully it was not long in coming. A good approach on eleven left me a three foot putt and I made sure I was not missing that. I did not trust myself with driver on twelve, the fairway bunkers looked like they were waiting for my ball so I went three wood and safely found the middle of the fairway. The rollout of my approach was disappointing, I thought I played it short enough to go close but it rolled off the back. At least it rolled directly behind the hole giving me a good birdie chance with a short chip which I made. I could not keep the birdie streak going, poor shot choice and a poor putt meant par on thirteen, another birdie left behind. I hit the flag with my second shot on fourteen but it just would not drop, inches from eagle but will take any birdie I can get from here on in. I had a straight birdie putt on fifteen, I still spent a long time over the putt convincing myself it was straight. Eventually after looking from every possible angle, I decided it was dead straight and birdie was made. My birdie putt on sixteen caused my heart to stop for a second, it was a short putt, six feet and rolled as slowly as possible towards the hole before seemingly coming to a stop at the edge of the cup, for what seemed like a eternity it tottered at the edge before finally dropping. My approach on seventeen was wrong, I am not sure how I played it so long, for the fourth time today, it was my chipping that kept my game alive, with out my chip shots today, my scorecard would look very bleak. I could not make it five birdies in a row on the last, my approach bounced on the fringe and went thirty feet past the hole, a steep downhill putt that I just wanted to lag close. The ball rolled a couple of feet pass leaving me with a safe par putt and ten under.
I am happy with my score, especially after my swing issues. I should have restarted my playstation at the first hint but thought it was a once off. Sure it cost me a shot but did not spoil my round. The closest thing to spoiling my round was two pars on the back nine that I should have birdied and that was completely down to me. Nevertheless, I came back well from those errors to keep me on track for my best four rounds since I joined the web and that is all I can ask for.
