Chat away men.
Even if I do get an exemption from last week which I don't deserve I will be playing this week (on Wednesday busy week) as I missed the cut off to use it on a course ive played loved and suits me.
Isn't that just typical haha.

My first week on web after winning A last week.
I practised the course as i knew my score was going to get me an exemption.
Well i have to say, that was a baptism of fire. At the time i played, i thought i was on exemption as i received an exemption email. This Morning i received an email confirming my web card.
Not sure if i would have played it more differently had i known i had my card instead of the extra pressure having to think i had to make the cut to get it.
The course was simple enough, i was suprised how soft the greens were i expected them to be firmer on the web tour. The wind got me though so i just got round, tried to hit the fairways and greens in regulation. Then if i got close enough, try to sneak a few putts in which i did.
I know the standard is a lot higher here, i dont expect to compete my aim is to hopefully make cuts and improve.
Not sure whether this would make the cut but my first 2 rounds were -11
Good luck Guys

Welcome BIELSALUFC . Usually I would give an indication of the Cut but I am clueless this week haven't been able to practice let alone get my rounds in and has been a couple of months since I played it on top of having the memory of a goldfish. If someone would hold a gun to my head I would probably blurt out -13 but its a finger in the air dart at a board guesstimation.

Howdy folks. I'm up here on exemption. Just thought I would say hi, most of you probably don't know me unless you ventured into the CC forum from time to time, thats where I normally stay unless there is a community tournament going on that I am participating in.
I'm not ready to post my 2'nd round score because I'm embarrassed lol, kind of had a rough go of it made some bogyes that I couldn't redeem. Suffice to say I'm hoping the cut line is not double digits. I personally dont think the cut is going to be too low, round two (well most the entire tournament) had some crazy winds. Round 2 though I think was the worst, I saw 18mph out there.
If I make the cut I may stand a slim'ish chance of getting my Web card as my rounds 3 and 4 were decent.
Anyway good luck out there everyone and most important enjoy yourselves.

Much more receptive than the last 2 weeks (I missed both cuts) So don't get too comfortable there will be tougher courses to come. This week is difficult to predict - I scored -8 in my first round but I see that winds are up for the second round so who knows? Anyway good luck on the web tour, nice to see you here. You will certainly find aiming to make the cut each week a little different than the CC tour and I personally found it a really hollow feeling when I missed. What's the point of playing the final rounds if you're cut? So you sort of lose interest in the leaderboard and in posting in general. FWIW I've found participating unofficially in the other tours and community run events helps maintain interest when you're having an off week or two as you no doubt will.

Good luck to the new guys. I'm hoping to get a try of this tonight. I've practiced 3 holes so far, looked quite tricky.

It was quite a hike from CC E to here. Its been a struggle but it shows that it can be done.

I only played one practice round here because of time restraints but from what I have seen, scores might be a lot lower this week, somethings that allows worries me with my habit of making silly mistakes. I can get away with that on harder courses but on easier ones, they can be costly, so focus the name of the game this time round. A par start when I left myself on the wrong side of the hole, a lot of break made the ten foot putt harder than it could have been. I got the line right but left it just short. The second played the same way with the same result, still early in the round but if I don't start making those putts soon, I could find myself in a battle. The first par five came at a perfect time, as long as the fairway is found, it's a birdie hole, my second shot just about stayed on the fairway but it did and it was plain sailing from there for my first birdie. My tee shot on four just rolled off the green, four yards or so from the cup, it was a perfect chipping distance, birdie number two. Ninety to a hundred yards is a distance that can cause me problems, and on the fifth it was no different when I over hit my approach. The putt coming back had slight break though which I read correctly for my third birdie. The birdie streak came to a end on six, trying to figure out the distance plus elevation plus head wind was to much for me, way to many numbers to add together. I over hit my approach and could not make the putt coming back. I think the no calculator on course rule is unfair to us numerically challenged. My tee shot on seven looked good, the bounce carried it a little bit away from the cup but was happy leaving it within eight feet. That happiness disappeared when I got to the green and saw the downhill breaking putt, I missed, I made the four footer coming back but it was a disappointing par. I sliced my tee shot on eight, I hooked my approach shot on eight, I misjudged my chip shot on eight, I did not birdie eight. The poor shots continued on nine when I put my tee shot in the rough, I ended up with a thirty foot putt which I had no real chance of making. A disappointing front nine, not accurate enough and a lot to do on the back nine.
The tenth played tough, I again sliced my tee shot, this time it stayed in the fairway. It left me with a decision, risk going over the water or play safe. I took the risk, the ball just cleared the water by a foot or so, a lucky bounce brought me to the fairways edge. I was left with ninety yards so I decided to pitch, it was not a bad effort but was still left with a tricky ten foot putt. My luck continued as it crept into the hole for birdie. I finally got a tee shot to go where I wanted it to go on eleven, I played the wind well on approach for a straight five foot putt to go five under. I went back to leaving myself horrible putts on twelve, my mini revival was over and was happy to take par. Thirteen was tricky in the wind and birdie never looked likely but fourteen was a must birdie hole, thankfully that was the case with a tap in birdie. It should have been birdie on fifteen as well and I am still not sure how I missed my putt, it looked good all the way then gave a little bounce with it hit the lip of the cup and did not drop, guess I hit it a little bit to hard,a shot left behind me there. I was still thinking of that putt when i teed off on sixteen, did not focus on the wind and failed to reach the green, I chipped close but another par. Par also on seventeen when my tee shot ended up in the rough, again not enough attention paid to the wind and made life difficult for myself. I finished up with a badly needed birdie on eighteen and left the course knowing I had my work cut out for me tomorrow.
Average is how I would describe that round. I did not play well but also never put myself in danger of a bogey. My accuracy was well off today and that needs to be improved before tomorrow. I loved the course, plenty of scoring chances but as my round showed, if not accurate, those chances can slip away. Good luck everyone.

In between starting and finishing my report, I see posts from familiar faces from the challenge circuit. Welcome guys, hope you have have fun here, and while the standard here can be higher than the cc, the fact you are here means you are more than able to play and score well here. Good luck on getting your card Tim, I have not played round two but when the winds are high, anything can happen.

Strange when I went to enter my score, it comes up as 8 under and not 7 under. Careful entering scores, make sure they match. Not going to enter mine just yet, will email commish.

That's right. You designed Hua Hin I believe. It was featured recently in the RRCC tour. Nice track. I scored -11 from memory so it was kind to me

I made a post about it in the bugs forum with some screen shots as well as emailing the commish. Seems the main page lists the course as a par 72 when its actually a par 71 causing some discrepancy. tgctours.proboards.com/thread/7005/web-artic-curseStrange when I went to enter my score, it comes up as 8 under and not 7 under. I played the first two rounds yesterday.
I thought I was going to shoot a low score with the greens being soft, but the wind put any chance of that to the back of my mind.
To be fair, I found the greens challenging and had a few hang over the hole and stay out.
First round was a -7. Second round was -6.
Not convinced that will make the cut.
