Hello!
I've just published Idanha Ridge Golf Club, my newest course set in the Rustic theme. It's a parkland style course, set on and around a ridge (yes, yes I did) with little water but lots of fun and some pretty views. Give it a go and let me know what you think. I'm always looking to improve, and any and all feedback is gratefully accepted. Cheers!
Par 72, 6,996 yards Greens: Fast Fairways: Medium

I played this course tonight and loved it. Very realistic challenge (playing no aids). I really think this would make a great course in TST. I gave it a 9+ and added to my favorites. Great job!

I absolutely loved this. A smart, classically designed course with a lovely consistent theme to the bunkering which is it's most memorable characteristic imo. Just look at the view I had for my final approach: I rated it a 9 and added it to my favourites and I believe with some tougher pins this would be fantastic on the Euro tour. Quality course, thank you

I agree with all the previous opinions. This is a truly well done course in all the senses, looks great, plays great, it's fun, challenging... I loved it. Had an extremely bad round with the putt, but (by now) I won't blame the designer for that.
Awesome work here!

Well what else is there to say? Best new course since Tye Dunes and almost, not quite, matches it imo. No brainer for a tour course. Probably CC but could be toughened up I guess for the Pro Tours.

I know personal preference and taste differ from person to person, and whilst the ratings don't matter, In my opinion whatever people scored this low enough that it is below a 7 rating wise need their heads examined!
This is proper course design in my book! while a couple bunkers could use a bit of work around them this golf course is absolutely spectacular! There used to be a designer in the PGA2000 days named Robert Wagers (sadly he passed a few years ago) and this course reminds me of something he would build! He and I had numerous conversations about proper scale! too many times designers will place a tree and make it humongous to cast a shadow to one side or the other! that is not proper scale! What you have done here sir, is proper scale! It looks like a course that could absolutely be real! standing looking around and seeing other holes hundreds of yards away! The natural flow of the global and local elevation work is as good as I have seen in this game.... the course flows naturally and fundamentally correct to me!
Outstanding routing on this golf course! Options abound! I absolutely loved the first par 5 with the "Pinehurst" style green raised from everything around it! I almost had a double eagle here , skirting by the hole by inches before rolling off the back of the green!
In my opinion which probably means nothing to most, this course is an absolute masterpiece! One I will absolutely favorite and play a lot!
Just an outstanding design, nothing more I can say at this time
You should be proud ! you've built a spectacular golf course....

Thank you so much for that write-up Terry, really means a lot! Loved making this one, probably the best time I've had in the designer so far, but having people play and enjoy it is the really fun part. Thanks again!

Thank you Terry! I agree with you 100%!! I've been seeing this for quite some time now and wrote a little rant if you will, last week on another course. I know everyone has their own opinion and likes and dislikes...that being said, I don't know how these courses get these low ratings.?! I've played this game from the start and have played in my estimation approximately 1500 courses, and that may be on the low end by quite a bit. When new and even seasoned players are going through courses to play, they should see courses with 6, 6.8, 7, 7.2, and the they should see courses like 8.5, 8.9., 9.5, 10.0. These are the courses that really shine and stand out. None of my courses should be rated anything close to a Canuck course, Dr. Yeti Course, Arctic Fury course, Taste course, to name a few and there are many others. Sorry guys I can't name all of you, . I don't get it?? Are people trolling? My goodness, what does it take for a course to get a 9 or 10?? Those of you that are rating these courses so low...do you design? Let's see what your courses are. If you don't design, then what in the heck do you expect to give these courses proper ratings? Share with the community...please. AND DON"T rate a course low because it kicked your butt, unless you feel it's unfair. There is nothing unfair with any of the designers courses I just mentioned above. I have shot double digits under par on every one of their courses. So, please don't punish the designer with a low rating because you're not that skilled in this game. We want these designers to feel appreciated so they will continue to make great courses. Isn't that what we all want?

Oh, I made this course a favorite after playing it, a couple days ago and gave it a 10! That's what I felt it deserved. This is a top notch course.

Bassman
I think your last line on your post says it all: I believe a lot of these low ratings come from folks that aren't shooting -15 under during their round, and they are frustrated and throw out a 5 or a 6... When I opened this course I saw that 6.7 rating and thought to myself, just from the screenshots Karma posted I could tell there was no way it was that low rated.. Upon playing it, I was shown how good this design really is! Study the routing, look at the placement of bunkers, look at the unplayable areas, the attention to detail is unreal! You can see across this course from different vantage points and it just put me in mind of a real course! It is insanely gorgeous and plays magnificent! I think I have yet to score under -4...It aint the courses fault, Its an I cant putt for crap fault! ha ha...
I played it and thought in my opinion it was an absolute 10! Heck Id give it a 15 if I could, that's how good I thought it was.... Again everyone has their own opinions but this is not a 6...To me at least
Ive been able to free some time lately, and Am going through some pages looking at courses that haven't had the first review..One in particular the other day, no reviews and 70 sum odd hours spent on the design! He/She deserved some words ....It is frustrating to put all that work into a course and have not a word said.. So I am going to try to find those and give a review of some sort...the least we could do for these folks...
With all this rambling and my hijack of this thread, Ill end it with
Idanha is magnificent! Outstanding again...
