Did not know duke already had this underway, was searching for the strackaline on the course, hoping to get a pdf file of it, and a link of his work came up from 2015.
my apologies duke.
anyhoot, already had hours invested into it, so im chugging on.
Spent about 10 hours maping the holes (tips, center of the greens, and the fairway waypoints) as well as other smaller stuff such as clubhouse location and things of that nature:
its a mess there huh. i did not use the tracing method with that one program, i did not think i could get the zoom to the correct yardage of whatever i would have been tracing.
instead i used some geometry (triangulation to be precise), which is why the mapping process took quite a bit of time. (if x is here, y is there, then B has to be over here)
though my lines made with the distance tool are not always as accurate is i wanted them to be, but its close a damn nuff. most of the points of interest are within 3 yards while many are within a 1, only a few are outside of that range.
after all 18 were mapped out, i needed to dig a lake. so i started by digging around hole 6, the courses signature hole, and worked my way out from there, again using triangulation.
after all 3 of the main body lakes were dug out, i went ahead and completed hole 6, its the easiest hole on the course to make due to its sheer simple nature.
a few real photos (not from the same vantage points)
i also have some hole 1 work in, though its still much a work in progress, but i do have the tee's, the green, the bunkers, and the fairway/light rough put down.
still need to finish the rest of the tree's down both sides and sculpt the green complex.
so ill just give you overhead shots of hole 1 progress:
total time invested into project to date: approx 16 hours (i will try to keep that updated as i would like to know for future reference)
