Talk about a perfect head to head game. Maybe we should try to get the match play players involved in this. Could help grow our competition too.

Oh man... a live, head to head matchplay speed golf using the same system of 24 seconds sounds like it could be a lot of fun to watch. To steal a term from TW. I like the name "Battle Golf".

What exactly is this speed golf stuff? I could probably find something to read but I'm lazy. Maybe I should try this. I can't play and use my brain for anything, so maybe just quickly whacking it around would be a better option for me. Can someone explain the rules or point me to where I can digest this?

It's a combination of results from your score and your time to play the course. Griffin is one of the top Speed Golf guys if you need to ask further. I am a deliberate (read: slow) player, but I have done middling in my 3 attempts at this despite how slow I play. Sorry I do not know the specifics, but depending on your platform you get a certain time added for every stroke. So if you take that in reverse, every stroke you do well, you improve. Guys here will (depending on the course) shoot a -10 give or take in 16 minutes or so.

ok thanks Bob - but how do you measure your time? Is that honor system or is there some type of official time that gets recorded?

There is one hole very short par 3 that doesn't count at the start (both for time and score), and (I think) your time doesn't start until you hit your 1st shot of the actual round and ends when you hole your shot on the 18th hole.

Bob, it doesn't matter what platform you are on regarding the time added.

Anyone on Xbox up for a match ? Figure stroke play. Start at same time and whoever finishes first starts their stop watch. Can't really play this weekend but after work (7pm- 1am) EST on weekdays works for me.
Let me know in here or via PM. I agree that this would be fun to watch. More so than watching even the 4 best players meticulously setup their shots and play in 45 minutes, so if you have people who like to watch you stream I'd love to see if this could help us build our player base.

I'll try it, but I'm a couple of hours behind you. Would be more like 11pm your time if that still works. Just send me an invite when you see me online.

Hope to see you on the leaderboards this week yaters! I tried it out. No idea really what kind of strategy to use. Took me a couple of holes to figure out the fairways were actually greens. Is that what all the courses are like? Was kinda brutal waiting for it to end rolling on a few holes. I won't be on any kind of 'leader' board. You'll have to turn the page over and look at the last name on the list. My game has completely fallen apart at this point. Just going to ignore any type of success and play. Every event I play in is a disaster, so I'm adding another type to that list. Maybe I'll take up TST again

TST is not the game I would play to boost my confidence. It always seems to make me feel helpless when I play.

I was kinda kidding with that comment about TST. I tried a round just to see if I found it any more enjoyable after giving it a long break. Nope. Still hate it.
