Welcome to Week 30 of the Speed Golf. This week we will be playing Jayflower GC (Lush), by jruckles . The first urban parkland course, well, at least it has its own city skyline! It's a unique course with some shot shaping required, so have fun! You can find the challenge under Tours, named " speed-golf-w30". Good luck and god speed! -11 in practice, then -11 in the real thing. No disconnection this time so at least I shouldn't come in last! (i have to start timing these with a stopwatch)

Sorry guys, I rage quit this week! Wasn't a good week to start trying to play without using the preview cam before drives.
Cool course though with the "city" backdrop.

I gave this a go but wish i hadnt lol. a +3 and was so close to rage quitting, didnt enjoy the course, too confusing but on a plus side, some good detail work went into the borders of the course.  |

So I actually stumbled upon this speed golf because I recognized my course on a live stream of it, so I'm the designer of Jayflower. I just gave it a try and found it to be quite a rush - I'll probably continue playing this tourney when I can from now on. I can definitely see how this course can be confusing if the first go around is with a speed round, my intent with the course design was to allow players full freedom to choose whatever route they dream up to play the holes - which is the reason behind the abundant "fairway forward" concept. A lot of players have told me they enjoyed playing in this fashion, but I know it's not for everyone.. I'm glad you enjoyed the surroundings of the course if not the specific layout, cheers. |

Lol its cool jruckles I didnt enjoy the course on the first go as you said it was in the speed golf so i couldnt play it right and i had sooo many bad bounces that rolled me over the greens that i had only a handful of birdie putts and I had to chip alot, i hate chipping, i suck at it so badly  I get your open fairway feel, so its a unique course and will give it another go at a nice slower pace hehe. |

Yeah the greens do play pretty firm (2PM on the firm meter) to combat the short length and it's easy to run them over, however I attempted to always allow room for fairway run-up, as long as you're approaching the greens from good angles |

I especially want to commend the designer of this one. This is undoubtedly one of the most interesting courses I have played in this game. The city skyline was done quite well, but I mostly enjoyed the wide variety of options afforded by his "fairway forward" concept. We need more courses like this in the database and on tour. It made for a fun and unique speed golf round, as well. Very nice job, jruckles.

-11 in what felt like a reasonably quick time (I, like Jimmy, really need to start timing my rounds). Got lucky to hit the pin three times this round, all three of which left me with kick-in birdies. It felt good to play well in this for the first time in a few weeks. I especially want to commend the designer of this one. This is undoubtedly one of the most interesting courses I have played in this game. The city skyline was done quite well, but I mostly enjoyed the wide variety of options afforded by his "fairway forward" concept. We need more courses like this in the database and on tour. It made for a fun and unique speed golf round, as well. Very nice job, jruckles. thats me beaten then. I managed -8. |

Last day to play this week's tournament!
I also shot a -11 in a reasonable time, not particularly quick. It's going to be an exciting leaderboard reveal tonight!
Glad people have enjoyed the course, I'd always recommend giving the course a play afterwards -- and also play at least a couple of holes of it beforehand so you know the general course settings.
Tell your golfing buddies to give speed golf a try if they haven't already!

-10 in 16:05 to 16:10 range if I understand the start and stop times correctly.
Unique course. Good choice for speed golf, especially the holes that shared the checkerboard like fairway/rough.
