TGCT Members: Do you like this community? Do you love how it's ran? Do you love how every tournament finishes without issues? Well we can all thank Mr. Scott Doyley. His passion for TGCT is the heartbeat of why it all works. In between him answering close to 50 support tickets a day, making sure the forums are clean, investigating straight shooters and multiple accounts, and much more.. he still manages to still find time to be a family man. Last night, his video card finally died in his ancient computer. We are at TGCT never ask for donations to benefit ourselves.. we love the opportunity to do this for all of you at no cost, but I personally want to reach out to see if we can "give back" to Scott for all he has done for us and this community and help him raise some money so he can get a new PC and continue playing TGC! If anyone deserves it, he does. Yes, more than likely he could afford this, and would hate I'm even doing this behind his back, but you know.. I don't care. This is the least we can do for the man that gives COUNTLESS hours to glue this community together. TGCT simply does not exist without Scott. Let's THANK him for that! Well what do we have here? When I woke up this morning (after surveying the damage after I got home from work last night) I told Tim that the video card finally bit the dust.
I just want to go on record saying it wasn't the golf club that dealt the final blow - the kids were playing Minecraft at the time when it finally gave up life.
Tim, like he always does, always goes big - it's why you have tgct in the shape it's in now. Well I just took a peek at the give back page and noticed the goal. That is way more than is required - I've told him to cut it off at a much more reasonable number.
Our family does have some savings put away for a rainy day - usually for when an appliance of some type dies. The computer is pretty much essential to our daily lives so I will be looking for a replacement asap.
It's very humbling that you guys would even think of donating to something other than a charity. I have the guilty butterflies in full force.
On a sadder note there's a good chance my 52 in R2 of this weeks tournament will be wiped due to my impending DQ since I have yet to play rounds 3 and 4. If we could all pause for a moment of silence and remember those good times together I'd really appreciate it.
Again me and my family thank you all for your kindness. Tim please don't let it get out of hand - I don't deserve a single penny from these guys as we all suffer from the same disease - golfsyphalis or golfasitus. Whichever sounds worse!
Ps please bear with me as I do all admining from my phone for the next few days. I'll be at work Sunday so we'll still be finalizing w15 on the normal schedule.
