A few years ago I lost a lot of weight and one of the big things that helped was accountability and encouragement through a community of folks I know. So I'm going to try and do the same thing. This time, it's to lose the final 125 lbs. I know I need to drop. (Last time, I dropped 100.)
So I'll post here weekly with updates so I can be held accountable. Feel free to get on my giant fat ass if I slack off.
Weigh in January 1: 300 lbs.
Goal: 175 lbs.
To go: 125 lbs.

C'mon Irving, you can do it if you want. In one year I've gone from 235 lbs. to 194. And still working my path down. And happy new year for you

Way to go dude! You've done it before, I'm sure you can do it again. I'm trying to drop 20 pounds before my wedding next year. I also have a low thyroid condition which makes it tough to lose weight. When I'm streaming, feel free to tell me to get off my fat butt and go for a run.

Nothing like another New Year to encourage millions of Americans to shed off some excess winter fat. I look forward to seeing your progress, Jason. Like you, I have some fitness goals of my own. No more excusing myself for not being in shape just because I have 3 young children.
May you lose the 125 this year and keep it off!

Tomorrow is the day of the year when more gyms get more new inscriptions ;-) And also a lot of people are trying to quit smoking also

Well, if anyone wants to know, I"m down 28 lbs. from when I first started and my blood sugar has fallen so far its barely above the normal range. My doctor says it's possible I caught it early enough to keep from getting full blown diabetes.

Nice work there buddy! I think it's time to drop a few myself. About three years ago I did some running and got back to a better weight...but I HATE running (ran enough playing soccer through college) so I think I'm gonna buy a bike. Honestly my metabolism makes losing the weight pretty easy but I just don't like to do it. If I had a crappy metabolism and ate the way I eat now? Holly cow I'd me a big ol' dude. As it is I'm 6'1" or so and 245. My frame makes it look ok but about 210 is where I should be to be more healthy. Stupid weight.

if it helps I have a buddy that used to wear pants that were bigger around than I am tall... Like... 74 or something. In the last 12 months he has lost over 260 pounds... he's a crossfit nut now. He's still a big boy but he's working it out man.
If you ever need encouragement I'll put you in touch with him. He's a big time motivator.

Way to go Jason! I've only lost about 3 pounds so far...17 to go and just over a year to do it. If I'm streaming lots this summer, make sure to tell me to get outside and go for a run.

Go veggie for a month. I eat veggie for 1 month out of every 3 and thats kept me at 10 stone for years. Cut out sugary drinks also and drink alkaline water, you will feel your energy levels shoot up.

I cut out soda and candy. That's probably why my blood sugar has taken a significant turn for the better.

Loving this thread. I've also started trying to cut some weight. It doesn't sound like much, but I've been around a lean165 most of my life due to just playing basketball so much. Over the past year, I got a little lazy and gained about 20 pounds of bad weight. Started working on knocking that out a couple weeks ago.

Key for me so far: Iced organic green tea that I buy in bags and boil. I've had a ridiculous amount of energy the past week since I started having 3 or 4 glasses a day.
