Course looks like an auto gen. I swear, I'm going to create a course and submit it to the tour because even I can do better than this.

Every hole is the same. Kinda shocked it got picked to host an event...many many courses out there that don't even get a sniff that blow this one out of the water.

Playing your tune up right now, just started 3'rd round. Playing in windowed mode right now for the 1'st time ever, Steam chat window threw me into windowed mode. I kind of like it, I can switch back and forth from the game to forum etc...
2'nd round I made a mess of due to family stuff taking my focus away lol finished +4 lol....
going to finish round 3 maybe 4 then off to the designer where i dont have to listen to John "oh so close" Oh I thought that was going to drop" "something sounded off there" same old lines over and over lol

It was the most I could do to stay awake while playing this course. I know it's a reproduction of a real course...but there has to be better courses out there to choose from. I stick by my opinion that courses are picked because of designer reputation over actual design. This one just isn't up to snuff in my opinion.

I believe this is a real world course that is very popular on the PGA tour.. The course is in Akron, Ohio.. I would love to play it in real life.. I think the designer did a great job recreating the course.. I guess complaints can be sent to the real world designer if you wish.. The South Course, designed by Bert Way and redesigned by Robert Trent Jones Sr. in 1960, is best known for its legendary history of tournament play. •Holes: 18 •Par: 70 •Length: 7,400 yards •Fairway Grass Type: Bent grass •Greens Grass Type: Bent grass •Rating: 76.1/132 •Designer: Bert Way/Robert Trent Jones Sr. •Year Opened: 1929

In bowling, also in Akron OH, that have (or had) the Firestorm Tournament of Champions where all the pro bowlers who had won an event or has exemptions from previous years competed in what was supposed to be the biggest tournament of the year. Is this something similar? Was this also a tournament of champions event for golfers?

What makes this course difficult to play is by the 5th or 6th hole you're asleep from boredom. By the time you wake up you've bogied 4 holes.

Played another round of the tour today, did considerably better than yesterday lol. Greens get tougher as you go from set up to set up. B gave me the most trouble and is the one I will need to practice most. Won't need to practice them much though, its just straight back and forth, just different yardages lol. Some may be tough in the winds though.
/back to the designer for another 2 hour stretch of retaining walls...or as i call them, fail walls....wish they snapped into place./

Nope, not doing it. Not practicing this course more than I already have (2 rounds). I'll shoot about 4 to 6 over par. I'll get my 3rd strike (after the one I'm going to get this week from #%#$^ Yuchi) and then I'll finally be in Z where I belong and maybe then I can win something.
At least I can't get demoted anymore.

It's just top 5 gets you exemption to cce now

Never seen Firestone in person. But I've seen plenty on TV between the tour and the old CBS Golf Classic. Let's not be too hard on the designer. After all, the real Firestone is quite the boring course. As I see it, all it has going for it in real life is its length. Other than that, all the par 4's are very much cookie cutter. Where you do find a dogleg, it's just a very gentle one. IMO, Firestone has only one hole going for it. The 16th is a really nice par 5, but at 662 yds, it loses something. Originally it was 625 so you could reach the downslope off the tee. Fot the CBS Classic, the pros played it at 575 which really worked well. The second shot became a nice risk-reward shot. But overall, I agree, it is quite the boring course.
