Hi Doug, just looked at your Franklin results - you seem to be doing pretty well. Where do you think you're weak? Consistency is my bug on this game. And chipping! I see so many players holing chips. I would be honest about you weaknesses and find someone who can improve those.

I am on pretty much every night. We can play a round and see if I can help in anyway. I have been hovering around 25-30 in WGR for about 6 months. Hit me up with a friend request.

Flops btw 8-18 yds, the usual suspects closer approaches and of course sinking more putts. I appreciate your response and look forward to playing with you both.

If you want to get somewhere around the Top20 on the WGR, I think you have to meet the following criteria: - High percentage on FIR & GIR (easy to achieve)
- Any ball inside 120y needs to be a gimmie (easy to achieve with some practice)
- Average putts/round needs to be close to 20 (or even below; hard to achieve)
- You need to sink at least one out of three chips in case you miss the green (hard to achieve)
This is my personal opinion, but I'm quiet sure I'm absolutely right with this.
After a lot of practice I managed to achieve the first three points, which helped me to become 34th on the WGR right now (with five Top5-results after 9 events this season). But I still struggle to sink more chips. And that's normally those 2-3 shots per round I'm still away from the top guys on tour.

Edi, for number 1, what would you consider high GIR and FIR? Thanks.

Well... always depends on the course (setup). It's hard eg. to have a high GIR (>85%) on those concrete greens we are playing recently on the PGA/EUR, so it's hard to give you a number here.
But what I can say is that if you wanna finish strong, you have to be within the Top15 on any of the stats (FIR, GIR, putts/round), no matter what tour you're on.

Yeah, to elaborate on what edi says, I look at where I end up in FIR, GIR, and Putts/hole each week and what rank I am in each. Putting is the most variable in this for me, and I suspect most players, as well. It is the most important followed by GIR rank. Those two stats can work against each other, though. If you are among the top 10 in GIR % you likely (but not universally) have a lower rank in putting as you are taking more putts from longer distances vs chips/flops from just off of the green when you miss a GIR.
So basically I think if you use the Players stats in your tournaments and click on the Putts/hole, FIR %, and GIR% stats so it sorts from best to worst, try to establish a pattern of where you are finishing the lowest at. Keep in mind that the stats are somewhat related. For example, if you miss a FIR, you are less likely to hit a GIR than if you had the same spot in the fairway. Likewise, as I stated above, sometimes a high GIR can hurt your putting stat (again, not universal, but probably true for 75%+)
