I started this track last friday and have gone with the flow, i've not referenced anything, i finish one hole then start the next seeing where the lay of the land takes me, there is no hole 9 or 18 that takes you back to the clubhouse, it will end where it ends...hell! i don't even have a clubhouse! so this is no masterpiece that has been months in the making, it is what it is, prob about 25 hrs work all told. I'm going with sloping, undulated FW's and greens for this, obviously i have to dial down firmness and green speed, which is a shame but no other choice as it becomes unplayable. planting is gonna be a mixed bag, some holes will be bare, others will have plenty of features. A revisit to the links theme, but may release a highland version if it looks nice. This track will not conform to text book, certain areas and aspects may be frowned upon by the purists, everything is intentional. The ultimate aim for me here is to create a fun track that people fire up more than once, enjoyment is all when it comes to TGC. Not far off a finish, think i have about 15 holes done, but may go back and add things here and there. inspiration taken from K11's Black swan over at PG so much so that i have hijacked the name (can't think of my own) It's gonna be quirky, visually appealing with one or two perilous holes (#11 a prime example, prob the scariest hole in golf) so nothing ground breaking here just a change from the current crop of manicured highland tracks about right now, i don't claim this to be better or worse than anything i have created before...The emphasis is on enjoyment! nothing more. comin' soon!
