Hello everyone.

First I'd like to say, if after reading this, the administration wishes to remove my entry from both of the beta tournaments, thereby giving me a DQ, I will understand their decision and won't kick about it at all.

I just went out last night and purchased an Xbox One controller. I installed the drivers for it and plugged it in. After some false starts (in The Golf Club) I have figured out how to use it best. And to be honest, I don't see that it's a big deal. No, you won't hit it quite as straight as opposed to the pad I was using, but I couldn't putt very well before and this stock controller doesn't change that. I still average over par. And by about the same amount. But you do have to concentrate more and (for me) I do have to keep my head down. From what I've seen with this, if you think you're going to watch your golfer swing, you're probably going to shank it a lot. You need to watch your stick thumb to make sure you are pulling it back and pushing it forward straight,t using your peripheral vision to know when the golfer is at the top of the back swing. Except on putting. I hit almost all putts fairly to perfectly straight even watching the putter head. Don't know why.

I used an F310 gamepad during the beta tournaments. And I tied for 262nd place in the easy tourney and tied for 182nd place in the hard tournament with 3 rounds posted. But I did use an F310 gamepad which let me hit a lot of shots with no discernable deviation. So if you feel you need to disqualify me from those tournaments, thereby removing my name, I will understand. In Q-school and going forward I will be using the Xbox One controller so there won't be any problems.

Actually, I find using this controller to be more fun. You have to actually concentrate. The F310 did a lot of the concentrating (at least on the swing) for me.

Hey sassy, have fun with your new controller. I started out the same way - always looking down at the controller - the more reps you do the less you look down.

You know, I think I actually shoot better with this new controller even though it doesn't give me quite as straight shots. I just played Deer Trail with it and posted a -5. I don't think I've ever gotten a -5. Maybe it's because I have to concentrate more. Sure, I hit a few greasy swings, but never actually shanked it. My putting was as abysmal as ever or I'd have scored -9 or -10. HATE when I miss those 3 foot putts.

I found the same with the x box controller, never dead straight but as long as you keep the loft down it seldom gets to far off line.

XBOX360 controller for me. Same with Steve- very rarely hit it dead straight, but very rarely miss the cone either.

I use loft and even fade and draw (to counter the wind, among other things). Never a HUGE amount of loft or fade or draw, but some. Every so often (maybe 1 in 15 to 20 such shots) I'll pull a greasy swing or shank it, but not near as much as you think. Keeping my head down concentrating on the controller helps a whole lot. I've even had, on more than one occasion, fade and draw help with distance control on the approach although that's not the norm.
