Hey guys. First off, I'd like to say thank you to those who have checked out my Course Design 101 videos..when I created them, I was hoping maybe a few people might use them for reference, but today I checked to see that many of them are nearing and even over 1,000 views! Those were made over six months ago, we have some new things at our disposal for the GNCD so I thought it is time for an update.
I was originally thinking of recording an entire course design in a series of videos...from start to finish..where I try to talk through what I'm thinking and give tips along the way based on feedback/youtube comments. Each "episode" would run about 30 minutes and the content of each episode would depend on where I was in the process. However, it may get repetitive pretty quickly. I have actually started attempting to do this, but seem to be struggling getting started on this. Just can't seem to decide on a theme or a look. Suggestions?
I was also thinking of just doing a short series where I go through building a par 3, a par 4, and a par 5.
Or I can just do some quick videos on specific topics people would like to see explained and add it to my Course Design 201 series that I started in the summer.
Let me know what (if any) might interest you and if this is worth my time or not.
Thanks!

That's what I could come up with.

I'd like also some kind of input on terrain sculpting and some use of the terrain brushes, any kind of advice would be very nice

I will preface this by saying I havent watched all of your videos... just bits and pieces. So if youve already talked about it... my bad. But two things i struggle with are making unique bunkers and getting the fair way togo right up to them and how to have a fluid elevation change of over 20 feet on a hole. So advanced bunkering and major elevation.

Hi Canuck can you do a video on creating water holes water features lakes etc. I'm new to course design and am really struggling in a lot of areas building from scratch. You make it look so easy on your videos.
Thanks

Here's my input fwiw, I would like to see a collaboration between top designers to get multiple perspectives.
For example, a video on fairways: how you do them, how reeb does them, how taste does them. Same for hazards, greens, etc.
Maybe include some snippets from books by top real world designers on the topics, discussing strategy of hazard placement, routing, etc.
Get dudes like CLV involved. GreatMav seems to know his sh%$ as well.
This way new designers can see all the different ways all the tools can be used and learn a little bit about golf course design along the way.
