Yeah, I can do that too and I seem to be able to estimate correction for winds quickly without using my normal 'click' method. Quite often my putting is better when playing quickly!!! Are there any other changes you use to technique? Do you still use flop shots etc? I use flop shots a lot in speed golf but not a lot in normal golf. Only reason i use flop shots is because i seem to execute them quicker while being more accurate. I have judged how far back to pull the club without having to use more or less loft. Have been so used to it since the start of this game. The problem I find with the flop shot is the amount of back spin you can get which can lead to long waits. Judging how far back to pull the club is a good skill to have. I was only really good at doing that when the swing changed initially. Now I struggle a little.

I will look at the green as im approaching it a lot and if i end up with a downhill flop i may change my mind and use a chip if its the club that is pre selected.

I'll definitely have to take a look at the streams. I probably am not quite as quick trigger with my aiming/wind adjustments, which probably kills me.

I definitely have my sights set on your win total, but winning is not easy against this level of competition. I was a bit surprised that I managed to win this week, since I played only three holes of practice instead of my usual full round. My archived stream for this round can be found here, for anyone who is interested. Speed golf begins at about the 1:30:00 mark.

The annoying thing is, i miss a few putts every round of speed golf i play and i know i should of made them.

I think it was the 500 ghost balls that helped you to the win, Doubtful

Thanks for the link, Doubtful! I was interested to see where I was losing time as I'm usually a minute or two behind the fastest guys, and it does seem as though it might partly be because I do a quick 'fly-forward' preview off the tee. Doing this can obviously sometimes be a benefit, however, if there are certain holes where you can't just mash the driver without thinking, and I'm curious as to whether the time spent previewing the tee shot is indeed saved by not subsequently hitting it into the rough, for example.
Anyway, I've just got a couple of questions - I think that Fuzion said the clock starts as soon as you hit the first shot, is that right? It's just that I do find all the ghost balls a bit distracting when I'm playing a tournament (I leave them on for casual rounds, however), so if you are able to turn these off before you tee-off that would be preferable - is this possible without losing time? The other thing was that I noticed Doubtful exited the game pretty quickly at the end - is this because the timer was still running, or does it stop when you've finished on the 18th?
Congrats on the win anyway, Mr Obelisk! Oh, and this was indeed a great course. Will definitely play it again under more relaxed conditions!

Yes, the clock starts once you've teed off on the first hole. So you have time to turn off the ghost balls if you wish. The clock stops once the ball has gone in the hole on the 18th. Hope that helps, I'll set up the tourney for this week once I'm home tonight!

Congrats on the win anyway, Mr Obelisk! Oh, and this was indeed a great course. Will definitely play it again under more relaxed conditions! That's why I usually play a full practice round beforehand (but not this time, because I was ticked off). I want to find holes that I think will be problematic and try to memorize where to aim to avoid the trouble; that way, I can shave off a few seconds during the real thing by not using the scout cam. It can be a risky strategy, though, especially if you don't play a practice round. The only caveat to removing the ghosts is that the difference between the timestamps in finishing the first and second rounds is used if, for some reason, backup timing is necessary. It usually doesn't come into play, but I'm overly cautious, so I start going as quickly as possible as soon as I finish the "One Hole to Bind Them." Speeding through the end, though, is just paranoia/force of habit on my part, though, and is totally unnecessary. Thank you very much! Thank you as well for watching my archived stream; I'm glad that you seemed to pick up some tips/tricks from it. Good luck in the coming weeks!
