Is there anyone still playing with a mouse ?
I’m posting this for my friend – lohfuchs – because his english is not good enough to write this himself. He is fuming with rage: since the update in September the game became impossible to play for him with the mouse: extreme difficulty to hit 100 % swings – sometimes he gets even 50% or 60% only without apparant reason – and he has extreme trouble with the putting too. It seems incontrollable, sometime the ball shoots away way too quickly, sometimes it’s glued to the ground. Did someone experienced the same and found a solution ? After trying a lot (mouse settings and so on) my friend even deinstalled the game … reinstalled it and tried again and again to no avail – and says it’s a shame that HB killed the game. He loved it! But doesn’t want to play with the controller, he even says now he’ll play Perfect …
Argghh …. Please. Help would be greatly appreciated.

I still play with a mouse, and I know exactly what you mean. When the update first came in it threw me totally. However after tinkering with settings and then gradually getting used to the new action I have now come to grips with it. I think that it has been re-modified since September. I never really suffered with the less than 100% swing, but my putting went totally to pieces. At first I had to abandon my "putting by feel" technique, and really watch how far back the putter was coming for various distances. However it was very much trial and error. Over time I got used to it, and I have been able to get my "touch" back. In fact I think my short game, especially the flop shot, has actually improved. If I recall I think I ended up with a sensitivity setting of around 30 which I believe is quite different to most people. I must admit that I slid down the levels and ended up in CC-D, where I now feel comfortable.
There is no easy answer, but all I can say is keep plugging away. Don't let it spoil the game, just think of it as a challenge.

I like your answer Yes, it’s not an „easy“ one, and in saying "I like it" I’m speaking for myself and not my friend (I’m playing with a controller …) A pity though that no one else is interested in saying anything about this … maybe there are not so many mouse players left ?

I play with a mouse, it just took some time to get used to the changes and build up new muscle memory. I decided on using HB's recommended 800 dpi for the mouse, but I changed the in-game sensitivity up to 60. Just keep playing around with it, play a few rounds with the same settings before deciding if you need to change the sensitivity in the options in-game.

Not left ... just can't find the happy medium I've tried every suggestion there's going ... Its ethier 95-100 % swing an ice putting Or great smooth putting an 75-90% swing Been out of action since the first swing update an said several fixes, from hearsay Sorry can't be of help other than to console yours semi retired TGC player

Short and sweet is to get a much better chance of 100% swings lies in not pressing down too hard on the mouse - almost 0 downward pressure and push from the back so that mouse slides smoothly over the mat. Prior to hb swing change the mouse swing tended to be quite short - perhaps 1 or 2 inches for back- and downswing. Since the change one has to swing a much longer distance for downswing and the mistake i made was to swing harder and faster - and subconsciously also pushing down heavier onto mouse, which in turn made swing more jerky or stuttering, resulting in almost every swing being 50-90 swing. One could negate that a bit by pushing ingame sensitivity settings to higher than 49, but that made judging putting strength a complete lottery. Lower than 49 and putting becomes much better, however 100% swing is much harder. I use ingame settings of 36. DPI settings unknown. Works for me, with the added bonus that my swing accuracy has also improved dramatically - i assume due to longer and smoother swing. Hope it works for your friend. Or anyone else who has problems.

Yes,
I use k/b and mouse. Before the big update came out I pleaded with HB that they not change what was already good for mouse players....to no avail. As soon as the patch was installed I was experiencing 50% - 75% power and putting was bloody awful.
Unfortunately I don't have an answer to the problem....like when I first started playing I had to learn, and have now overcome most of the issues.
But I still do not understand why HB put in a change when it was working fine for k/b mouse....I heard that it was to rectify PS4 issues, though I don't hang my hat on rumours.
Kind regards to all,
oz
