Week 16: The Goldfinch Club

Welcome to Week 16 of the Speed Golf.

This week we will be playing The Goldfinch Club, by HB_KeithC. This is one of the new official courses, and is in the Delta* theme. You can read the course guide here.

You can find the challenge under Tours, named "speed-golf-w16".

* You will need the DLC to play this course, as it is in the tropical theme.
(Tournament runs until Tuesday 4pm GMT)

PS: Speed Golf now has improved round timing! Your time starts when you hit your first stroke, and ends when you hole the 18th! We still have the warmup hole for a) tradition and b) backup timing.

In contrast to last week, this week we had a terrible turnout; 37 entries, of which 33 completed the challenge. Make sure to tell your golfing buddies to play speed golf!

Yes, once speed golf is fully integrated with TGCTours, I plan on having a points system with a 12 week long season. Still in the works and subject to change, feel free to write any ideas.

Did this course lag for anyone else? Was so slow for me and I didn't have the patience for it so shot -4

I tried this. My first time trying speed golf. On the course it said I shot -4, on the leaderboard it says -5. My time was slow. Yay!

The final leaderboard takes the score on the warm-up hole into account as well, so that's likely the source of any discrepancy.

Thanks, Griffin.  If/when this becomes an official TGCT event, I will play it each week, but I don't expect anything as I am a deliberate player in normal rounds.  This took me way, way out of my element.  I think I went without a bogey (not totally positive), and that alone was amazing with how I blasted through the course.

Speed golf is good for training your gut as there's no time to dig out a calculator or look at a spreadsheet. Take Canuck, a couple of months ago he was languishing around trying to make cuts, now he's gunning for some top finishes. What's changed since then? Speed golf came out. That's obviously the answer. Clearly nothing else could explain it.
