Played my first round of golf today in over a year due to wrist op and moving houses. Played with Gavlaar who hasn't hit the links for 3 years.
I hit 117. He hit 112. I parred the 1st and birdied the 18th. Drived like a nob, putted like a G.
One thing that struck me was how much slope were on the greens and how much elevation was on the course. My legs are hurting now haha. I also had a pitch run up and stop on a red grid line. Was fuming had to literally tap a 20footer downhill on a slow ass green. Managed to two putt tho.
My thoughts,
1) there's nothing wrong with elevation
2) there's nothing wrong with slopes on greens
3) people need to play real courses and realise these TGC don't have enough elevation or slope on the greens. At least to the courses I tend to play in real life.

I play at a local course in Canada called Wolf Creek (the OTHER wolf creek), and it's a links course that has some really awesome greens with a lot of humps and tiers. Especially with players being able to chip the lights out it seems, having tough rolls and big greens moving forward is essential, I think. I say bring it on.

Awesome, I'm four months post rotator cuff surgery and just got the go ahead to play golf. Had the same surgery on my other shoulder in 2013, so I've played minimal golf over the past four years. Looking forward to hitting the links and it will be cool seeing hoe the golf course feels residing greens after playing TGC.
