3rd week in a row that one really bad round has cost me. Shot a 70 on setup C which appears to be the easiest of the 4. Two 67's to start and a 64 to finish got me to -16. Expect Top 25 but short of Top 10. Birdied the last 5 holes on Sunday which was nice

I fully expect to be at the lower end of the Top 50 and after having two Top 25s to start that is dissapointing.

Can't wait to see the cut line this week. Would have to guess slightly over par but we will see.
I had a start I could only dream of at this course. I was -5 through 8 holes to start. Ended up at -2. Followed that up with a +2 so E through 2 rounds. Had to take some chances and chipping/putting off the green when 3 yards away will test you especially when the greens always seemed to running downhill. Round 3 played well for a -8. Waiting to see where the cut falls but will need a fantabulous Round 4 if I make the cut to score a Top 25.

I was likely the only guy out there that literally broke out into a sweat playing this course. Definitely a real thinker and going for birdie was all to often a burn. I bet I had double digit bogies over the four rounds. Finished -16. I'm hoping for my best finish on this tour.
What I enjoyed the most was that it highlighted some areas for me of great concern and spent all weekend, wife away, working on those areas.
What were those areas: Not that anyone cares but here goes the concern and what I did on the weekend to hopefully improve those areas.
1. Putting. I'm guessing, just guessing using experience. (I studied some aimpoint tips and practiced distance control in the designer. Watched SD with great interest on twitch for 2 rounds, TD for part of 1 round. I took a ton of mental notes focusing in on their putting. I think I get it now finally.) 2. Chipping, I pretty much knew the distances of each swing, just never really focused on precise aim, wind, lie and effect of the pin downhill/uphill. (More work in the designer, still needs work but the practice is smarter). 3. Heavy rough. I'm guessing, just guessing using experience. That's not going to get me any cookies. I never really used the delofted SW much before, but this course highlighted the absolute need for this club in the bag. Also I found, I really had no idea the effects of the various % on pitching, chipping and flopping. (Spent a bunch of time in the designer in the heavy stuff, still needs work but the practice is smarter.)
Sunday afternoon I played some rounds using my new information, new tools and new club, and wow what a difference. I have a new found excitement for the game now. Wait till the PC boys open up next weeks Friday course and look at the leaderboard. Now we see if it can translate to tournament golf or not.
Thx for reading folks. have fun out there.

Just of note you can deloft the LW to 246% and I think it may go a tad farther.

I know they are looking at this and possibly setting the loft at 1 box max either way for all clubs which would make it better. People using the 3I and lofting way up to land it softer on the firmer greens isn't ideal either.

I doubt they will fix that, but you never know.

Agree, but they also need to make it so that you can stop an 8/9 iron relatively quickly on firm greens. If you could do that as you should be able to, lofting up past 2 bars would never be necessary anyway

I'm -12 after the first two rounds (66, 64). I holed out several times (pars, birdies and an eagle), chipping and flopping, I kind of felt like Jordan Spieth But I also played some sweet shots into tough positions and made the short putts. It's a hard to gauge whether you played well or not, because you're score isn't an accurate reflection imo. Through good fortune/executed shots I'm doing well thus far. If this season's form is to be continued, I'm going to have a mediocre Rd 3

I am not against hard courses in fact generally play better against the field on them then the -12 under courses. Love the thinking around this course. Once you play a few rounds you see the lines better. No grip it and rip it with driver every hole. THAT being said, I think there are a couple of pins on the A and D that are in pretty tough spots. I had a putt on 14 from above (A setup) that briefly stopped 2 inches past the hole but then kept trickling. 25 seconds later I was off the green.... I know the answer I made a note for myself, dont hit it above the hole, but still. 14 again on D is tough. And 14 is not a short iron approach. You can make a handful of birdies here, it is the bogeys you have to avoid by knowing where to miss. You can't bring up holes like that without mentioning #5 on the B setup. Now that is a case of a brutal pin that is designed to just kill scores and destroy hopes and dreams. Yep I took an 8 on that hole after landing on the green. Still managed even par for the round but throw that hole out and I'm at a nice -5 lol

This course also requires mental fortitude. In practice I found I struggled with streaks of bogeys on the back nine. Play a hole "well", make a frustrating bogey and then it snowballs... Must be mental tough too...

I've never heard or thought of delofting a SW or LW out of deep rough...and that it allows 200+%? That's crazy! New exploit I'll have to test out. I'm been hitting the 100yd shot and playing for par from the fairway. Might have saved me a few shots this week

Rough couple of weeks for me.
Last week I squandered a top-50 finish by submitting the incorrect score for round 3.
This week I played like a horse's ass in the first round and didn't compensate enough in the second. Ended up +4 after 2 rounds. The penultimate insult came this morning when I went to submit my scores this morning and realized I had somehow forgotten to register for the event entirely. The final insult came when I realized that when I played a round with Tim and Jeff on Cuyahoga last week they were talking about the fact that there were only 7 spots remaining and that "people had better get on it or they are going to be left out". I chuckled and say "ya, they better do that", not realizing at the time that I was one of those donkeys.
I'm firing my personal assistant.

I learned the 187% Delofted SW from Doyley. There was one tourney I was in the heavy rough on a par 5, my second shot was down hill, down wind and I ended up hitting a SW, yes a SW out of the heavy rough 192 yards.
Definitely one of those things that should NOT be in the game.
Like others I do hope they restrict lofting to one grid. That alone would take away the Deloft option of the LW/SW and the uberlofted 3iron shots.
Bentfivewood, you are lucky to have a Personal Assistant, I have to fire myself sadly, tho I have done it many times. Don't know why I keep hiring myself back tho.
