A lot of familiar names and faces have moved on to bigger and better things in the web.com, you know the sad thing about it, not one phone call, not one text, not even a post card. It's like us amateurs don't exist anymore, I know we don't live the same lifestyle you pros do, we don't have the money, we have to use equipment and clothes from the bargain basement of Golfers R Us, but we have feelings to. Would it have hurt you do say goodbye? Well screw you web.com guys. Be right back, I have something in my eyes!
Victory Golf club, the scene of one of my worst days in challenge circuit golf, where over just two holes, I dropped seven shots ( stop laughing web.com guys, ye are so mean, see what money does to people). I hope I can do better this time around, shall we see what happens. I will admit that I was angry heading to the first hole, as I was walking from the bus station to the golf course, Kenny drove past me in his new bmw convertible and threw and empty champagne bottle at me. For your information Kenny, those two blondes with you, cosmetically enhanced. This did put me off my stride a little and I hit a very poor approach shot on the first. I did manage par but with a straight putt if left of the hole, it was not a great start. I picked up my first shot on the second, again my approach let me down but this time I had a putt which I managed to sink. When I hit my third bad approach in a row, doubts started to enter my mind, it got worse when my chip did not get up the slope and rolled back down the green twenty feet or so. It left a hard uphill putt, watching it drop was a huge relief but I still needed to get my approaches right. After a par on the fourth, I picked up my next shot on the fifth, a excellent tee shot that followed the contours of the green to stop in a perfect spot was very satisfying, two under after five. I picked up my next birdie on the seventh, again a great tee shot led to a easy putt. I normally don't play par threes well, so this was a bonus. I over hit my fifty six foot putt on the eight, could not recover, my first bogey of the round. The ninth hole brought a fifteen foot eagle putt, it also brought my second bogey of the round. I don't want to talk about it, ok. Just leave me alone, be right back, there's something in my eyes.
I had a eagle putt again on the tenth, this time I missed by just a foot or so. I needed that birdie, I also need to kick on now, to try pick up a couple more shots before the end of my round. Needing to do something and putting it into practice are two different matters. My worst tee shot of the day on eleven had me scrambling for par and another over hit fifty plus putt on twelve messed with my mind. I did sink the par putt from the fringe but I was playing a dangerous game. Thirteen brought some relief when I finally got a approach shot right, back to three under. I picked up another shot on the next hole for a hint of respectability to my score but threw away the chance of three in a row on fifteen. I picked up one more shot over the final three holes to finish with a five under sixty eight. I am not sure how I finished five under, the round felt a lot worse than that, I was lucky not to drop more shots. If I want to move up the leaderboard, I have got to get my approaches right, fifty foot putts are just not good enough. Still, the round was not a disaster, I have never played well on this course, so I will take that score and move on to round two tomorrow. Good luck everyone, hope you all have a great season two.
As I was walking back the bus station, my heart jumped for joy as Chris pulled up beside me in his new Mercedes convertible. I knew not all web.com players were not mean. As I was about to get in, he drove fifteen yards down the road, ah that Chris, such a funny person. You know what was not funny, when he kept doing it for two miles all the way to the bus station. Well the last laugh is on him, not only that all the chasing his car get me to the bus station faster, but those two blondes in the car with him, well let's say he is in for a shock when he checks under the hood. I got to go now, there's something in my eyes.
