Just published this course.... Features.... Links theme par 71 7072 yards Traditional links course with Wide fairways with generous landing areas, lots of bunkers and large greens. Lots of elevation change, spread over the whole course, rather than one or two holes. The course plays firm and fast, the course needs to be fast as the course plays very long. Not a whole lot of eye candy on this course, after running out of objects whilst doing northwest links i have decided not to go overboard, as i don't want to compromise the vision by running out of objects again. I may go back at some point and upgrade the eye candy once there are more objects for the links theme, such as fences and paths, but for now its good enough. Overall the course plays fair but hard when the wind blows, the greens are a test, and finding the right area on the green is key to making a good score on this course. If there is interest i will publish further pins. Enjoy and leave feedback if you play it. ]

This course is unfinished and has problems, there are issues with the 16th (down wind nigh on impossible to stay on green) and 17th greens i need to sort out, as well as some planting and other touching up i need to do....
Its still a good beast of a course though despite the problems.

Course Description:
7072 yard par 71 links style course...that plays closer to 7500 The Course Features, wide fairways, large apron ed greens, many bunkers, elevation changes, challenging approaches. Set on an Island with huge cliffs, the course has elevation changes spread through out the course. The course will require you to play tradition links style golf, where you have to land the ball short of the pin and run the ball up the large greens. Finding the right level of the green is the key to this course, or you will be 3 putting a lot. This course should be suitable for all abilities, although it does get very tough in high winds.
"Staff Review:
Pros Well-customized plot, design, and planting. Creates a unique feel. Smoothing of fairways, rough, and bunkers is well done. Good widths of rough and fairway. Some great views of the holes and surroundings while on the course, but...(see cons) Cons ...too many would-be great views are hidden. Way too many blind shots. Holes 13 and 16 would greatly benefit if you could see the entire hole from the tee. Greens are over sculpted. Pins are fair, but anywhere outside a 10ft radius of the pin the greens runs off into traps, holes, etc. Bunker positions and shapes did not deviate. Strange contrast of rectangular tees and then roundish bunkers/greens. Hole8 'ring' fairway design doesn't fit with the remaining holes. Conclusion This course leaves me thinking...what might have been! The designer has a great feel of the design tools and how to properly sculpt a course. The rolling hills and smooth edges look great in contrast with hills/cliffs/etc bordering the holes. There was a great opportunity for amazing views, but it was lost as way too many hills blocked these potential views, and created blind tee shots and approach shots to the green. The overuse of the round bunkers, especially in the landing areas of the fairway, makes tee shots feel redundant. The greens require some precision shots to get close to the pins, and rewards the golfer for great shots, but too severely punishes the golfer for mediocre shots. More accommodating greens with fewer tiers and severe slopes would make this course more approachable. This course has a lot of promise...and maybe can be salvaged with a few bulldozers and large tamps."
I agree with this, i have made changes to 16 and 17 already, and i will look into issues raised in the review.... i will say the the small bunker styling and green sculpting is very deliberate as i am trying to give the course an old style links feel to it.
I'll see what i can do with the blind shots issues, i do feel blind shots add to courses though, the split fairway on 8 never felt it fitted all that well, although i feel it is a cracking hole.
Like i say i'll release another version of this course, might be a while off as i am playing other games currently and i am having a break from the Golf club for now.... I also have another links course i am working on with 9 holes done so far....
What i will say about this course, the more you play it the better it gets, i didn't like at all that much at first, i love it now, despite its problems on 16 and 17.
