I think Doyley said something along the lines of everybody will be auto-registered in the first week with no DQ strikes being issued. May have mis-read though.

Owinner is right. We'll auto-register everyone for week 1 and turn off DQ strikes.

It is really too bad that the lower level players could not have had an event of their own. No one in their right mind could ever think that the E and Z players would ever be a determining factor in the final outcome of this "Championship" Event. Putting aside the Web Card "carrots", a "Best of the Worst" event would be something more obtainable for the less skilled players. An appropriate "carrot" could have been maybe a two week exemption to the next level and of course a nice little badge to go with the signature line. My personal Congrats to all bottom dwellers for filling up some spaces on the Master Score Card and for sticking it out knowing that we had no chance in hell to be a competitive factor in this obvious A/B Event. Given the massive work load that the Staff members put in to present all of this to us, it is somewhat understandable about limitations and availability to produce events for all levels. Having said that, maybe some thought could be put into some sort of inclusion in the upcoming season for more "special" events for those who live in the dungeons of the CC. Not asking for the world here, but something that the lower levels could call their own. Just a wild ass thought for the forgotten masses who enjoy the game and would like something more inclusive to their skill sets.
Feel free to begin the roasting at your discretion.

The only option I can think of would be to make this like a Major for the CC tour, giving more points etc. Maybe next year?

The Web tour is supposed to be more like an actual pro tour. You qualify you play the whole year and earn your right to stay move up drop out. Like it should be. It should be an accomplishment and 3 weeks of bad golf shouldn't knock you out. What if the two weeks of missed cuts by Spieth. A man who won everything this year would have knocked him out due to demotion strikes. This is what you earned and should be allotted a year to see what you can do rather then a couple weeks. Bravo for how this is run. That's why they said this was a pro tour and the CC is more like amateur.

Are you saying you won't be averaging under 18 putts/round and 4 chip ins/round in season 2? Just tell everyone playing my ghost's helped you achieve your score in the CC Championship. It's OK..I won't mind. If you look at my GIR, it's under 70%. No one else near the top is under 70% GIR. Meaning: I really got lucky with 1) my approaches landing on the fringe right near the hole and 2) the majority of my 6 yard and under chips went in. This sort of combination is something that I don't expect to ever happen again, certainly not in web.com with their more difficult courses. In addition, I had a personal best on 3 out of the 4 courses (I think A, C, and D). I rarely ever surpass my practice round best during actual tournament play. I probably practiced the A, B, and C course five times each and the D course 20 times. For all the stars to align on one night, the probability of it happening again is next to nil. Most of you that have scored really well have always felt you left at least a handful of putts out there. I can honestly say that I left probably one putt less than 8 feet out there in the entire four rounds and more than made up for that with 3 long putts that I had no business sinking. But you willingly wanted to miss some of those greens, haha. You saw my ghost on #2 (I think it was) in a round and stated that you wanted to be right where I was. 5 yards out, pin high, and off the green to the right. The difference is you made those chips (and putts, and shots). I'll get you back next week of course.

Scott, With all due respect to all of the complete dedication and extreme hours that all of you guys put into this, my point is some what missed here. First, I do not recall any information about flight winners, maybe I missed that, but that could be part of the disconnect I am experiencing here. If this info was put forth to the community, then it is an oversight or negligence on my part and I will accept that. I was under the impression that there was only going to be one final winner and the flight information was fed to the master scoreboard to ultimately show the final winner and whom would be eligible for the Web cards. No where did I see info about also being flight winners as it were. That, in no way, makes them CC Champions, but just a flight winner only. The whole point of my dissertation was that it would be totally ridiculous to think that any of us bottom dwellers would ever have a real chance at the winners circle. Therefore the notion of a CC Championship is really only for the best of the best (as it should be), that being A/B with possibilities of some C and D players having a more realistic chance to be real competitors, and to be politically correct, even a few of the E guys currently climbing up do have some hope. It is not lost upon me that the Staff can not offer each and every level their own Championships, that would be totally out of the realm of possibilities and logistically counter productive. So many of us at the bottom look up and see the availability of the numerous events on the table for the upper groups and wonder if ever we could have an event or something akin to one that would feed our hunger for some more competition, but within our own skill sets. We can not play toe to toe with the better guys but we do like to play as much as anyone else. A Match Play series for the CC-Z comes to mind, mainly because of the lower numbers in that group, or a Stapleford game. Maybe in time this can be addressed. It is really my sincere goal in this to just shoot up a flare to draw attention to our plight in the basement for a little bite of the bigger pie that is on the table for the Big Dogs. Just trying to bark a little louder in hopes of maybe you guys hearing us and coming up with something that would be appreciated and to let us know that just because we live at the bottom of this pool, we too, love to play the game and do deserve some sort of event for our skills also. Nothing more is intended by this effort and in no way is to criticize the Staff for any wrong doings. Everyone knows what a fantastic job you guys perform and what a difficult one it is. No doubts about that. With all the talent that is available, maybe at some point, the average golfer can be hopeful for some more "same skills" oriented events.
