Hi, I'm a former CGX tour (TW 08) player until the series was closed unexpectedly this summer. Now I am doing my first steps with TGC (PC/Steam version), played a couple of rounds and starting to understand how the game and handicap system works. Finally I'm happy and thrilled to have found this website My question is: do I have to have a confirmed game handicap BEFORE entering q-school ? That means having played 5 rounds in the game on HCP-Rated courses, if I am right. Greetings from Germany, Ralf (TGC player name: davidsvoice)

Hello and welcome. You don't need a confirmed handicap before entering q-school. You will be placed in the appropriate tour depending on your score in q-school and handicap isn't used for that or in fact for anything on TGCT. I would however make sure you play a few of the courses from q-school as practice because they can be pretty brutal.

As far as I know you don't need a handicap to play q school. I did not when I played. Handicap scores are not used on tgctours when entering your score card, never have been. Good luck on q school.

Hi again. I just finished my first round of q-school. I needed one hour for this because I wasn't aware of having a ghost opponent in the course. How can I set ghosts to zero in rounds 2 - 6 ? I searched The social settings, set opponents to zero, but after starting the first hole of round 2 he is still there. What can I do to kick him out ? Greets, davidsvoice

Greets, davidsvoice Have you turn order disabled, then ghosts don't interfere with your round, outside of that, all I can think off is doing what you already done. Did you save changes when you finished in the social menu?

Welcome. The handicap scoring is used for the leaderboard within the game. here at TGCTours what you shoot is what your score is. as far as the ghost balls, during your round you can hit start or whatever key you use to bring up the menu, and go to change rivals and remove rival

Thanks a lot. "Change rival" in combination with "remove rival" worked for me, rest of the rounds could be played in half the time. My final score was nevertheless depressing. Don't know which tour will accept me with a total of +67 after six rounds. Much practice has to be done

Most here have stories about how brutal the Q-School experience was and then through practice and experience they learn to subtleties of this game. The courses you'll play in the CC flights are not nearly as challenging. Things started to click for me after about 3 tournaments and I'm still learning each week. There's a lot of options here outside of the normal tournament system. There is a new 'no aids' tour starting up as well as a Speed golf tour in case those are something you might find interest in.
