Blue and white tees both available. Search for:
Woodlands Golf Club, Australia
or
Woodlands Golf Club (Whites) - Easier pin placement, slower greens & shorter white tees.
Here is my true re-creation of my home club "Woodlands GC" here in Melbourne, Australia.
Bunker shapes, elevations, tee positions, green/fairway slopes, feature trees/shrubs, paths, furniture, green growing areas, practise facilities, etc etc. have all been painstakingly replicated using Google Earth & GolfShot Pro for layout and distances and also my own knowledge of playing the course every week.
It should be a decent challenge for all players, but people who plan their tee shots to set their approach up will do best here.
Good players should comfortably break par, whilst high handicappers may struggle, especially in the wind.
You can see the white tee locations on course which will be playable in the "Front Tees" version of the course shortly.
The "Front Tees" version will also play easier pin locations and slightly slower greens.
Woodlands is a superb Par 72 Sandbelt course currently at #12 in the TOP 100 Australian Golf Courses. Woodlands is also known for it's state of the art newly built Clubhouse.
The greens are very small, very hard & very fast, the narrow fairways are all pure couch and offer a great surface from which to play and there are many bunkers to overcome.
It provides that overwhelming feeling that you have to work the ball around the course, and never, never slog it.
Woodlands Golf Club, Australia (est. 1913) - 18 hole
Course Record: 64 (David Diaz - 2006).
THE CLUBHOUSE & PUTTING GREENS
AN OVERVIEW OF THE 2nd - PAR 5
A LOOK AT THE 5th - PAR 3
FALLING SHORT ON THE TIGHT APPROACH ON THE 7th - PAR 4
THIS TYPE OF PIN PLACEMENT IS THE NORMAL AROUND THE COURSE - THE 14th - PAR 4
THE LAST LEG OF THE LONG 15th - PAR 5
THE FINAL SRETCH OF THE SHORT 18th - PAR 5
THE DRIVING RANGE
THE PRACTISE BUNKERS
AND YES THE COURSE IS FULLY WALKABLE
AN AERIAL VIEW SHOWING SOME OF THE REPLICATION OF THE COURSE
I'll post some comparison photos soon but early build comparisons can be seen in the "works in progress thread".
If anyone has ever played the real course please let me know.
I have no idea how long I worked on this & don't want to know lol, but let's just say this is the only course I have built, and I bought the game the day it was released and I play it to a ridiculous extent. I kinda got addicted on the whole replicating thing.
NOTE: In the end I decided to pull a few of the tees back to increase the challenge, as the course isn't very long in real life (and some holes seemed too easy in game).
It now plays how it does in real life.
Enjoy!
