Hi, I used to play TGC more back in the day , I recently re-started , finished Q-School and am competing in Flight A of the challenge circuit. One problem I am having is that I dont have a strong grasp on the effects of wind.
The formula I am using ("Wind Value") x 1 1/3 = Yardage Adjustment (9 mph wind= 9x 11/3= 12 yards or 12 mph = 12 x 1 1/3= 16 yards, etc, etc) just does not seem to work correctly anymore and it used to work well for me ( it never did for SW, LW pitches or flops either)
I have searched like crazy for an online guide but have not found one with definitive answers.

Killerbunny check the threads there was a good one on wind recently. Might depend on how good your geometry is though - lol.

Why don't you adjust your formula until it seems to be about right?
Of course that would require some testing.

My formula works fine until I get to about 15MPH, after that it's so inconsistent. Any tips? I'm not sure yet but I'm thinking lower show even less effect than normal but higher clubs don't???

It's more like really golfing except less about feel. I never think about how fast the wind is in terms of wind speed , I think In terms of how many yard it feels like , so it's a leap for me,
