Can anybody give any tips or process to calculate how to compensate a diagonal wind either tail or headwind. I have no issues with crosswinds at either 3 or 9 o'clock directions or 12 or 6 o'clock winds but in beteeen these points i struggle and it really has ruined my rounds on occassions. I have seen posts mentioning the use of the pythagoras theorum but cant grasp how this is applied in these circumstances. Any help is very much appreciated.

Any headwind at the SW or SE positions I use 150%. I adjust based on what "o'clock" the wind is sitting. Say there was a 12 mph headwind at the 7 o'clock position, I would add 20-22 yards to my calculation depending on the club.
Headwind, I will add anywhere from 150% to a full 200% depending on the club. The lower the club the more it carries in the wind and rolls on the green. This is really experience and feel.
