A couple weeks ago I finally figured out how to do a repeatable 100% swing by completely changing my swing style. But as a result my accuracy is now a complete crap-shoot. I had assumed that it would just take a few hours of practice to figure out, but I haven't improved a bit since then. I used to place solidly in the top 1/3 of CC A, but now I'm rounding out the bottom 10 because I've got no idea where the ball is going to go on any given swing.
Does anybody have any accuracy tips for the post-patch swing? If I can't figure something out soon I'm just going to have to quit the tour, because this game is no longer any fun for me. Which sucks, because I loved it for 9+ months.

I hate to say it but: practice, practice, and more practice lol. I had to spend about 20hrs to get my swing/scores back close to what they were pre-update. What works best for me, is no pause at the top, then flick forward quickly. If you start the downswing at the right time, you don't have to "slam" the stick forward, but it's still a much faster motion than you're probably used to. If you pause at the top, you really have to slam the stick forward much more aggressively to get 100% shots, which also decreases accuracy.
With my current swing, I still struggle with 92% shots if I don't consciously force myself to swing faster. This happens when I get too involved in calculating winds, lie angle, loft etc. Also, my accuracy isn't nearly as consistent as before the update.... my miss seems to be a hook. To counteract this, I hold my controller in a more upright/vertical position, which seems to help me hit it straighter if I start hooking. I hope this helps. I definitely understand your frustration, and was ready to give up myself, until I found something that works for me. If it wasn't for TGC Tours, I would've gave up on the game the day after the patch dropped.

I have stopped playing TGT Tours(and the game altogether) until the next patch because despite loads of practice, it (or my swing) s not nearly consistent enough for my liking. Actually the best results I had were swinging with the right stick but since I had only ever played left stick it felt about as natural as swinging a real club wrong handed. I did try one tournament post swing "upgrade"and it was miserable. Hopefully the much vaunted swing update fixes this.
I am not sure how many tours I will slide down due to inactivity but c'est la vie. It would have happened if I had played with the swing anyway.

I can't do it either.. Practice, practice, practice doesn't do it for me. I seem to have to make an unusual swing for myself that the ball goes all over the place. Could be the arthritis in my hand, I don't know, but it's really a bother.

I think my problem is that I can't get 100% with thumb-action alone. I need to put my wrist/arm into the movement, and that just throws everything off. I'm shooting *at least* 6 strokes worse than I was before the patch.

Can you pull a thumb? I've pulled a hammy before but not a thumb.

Can you pull a thumb? I've pulled a hammy before but not a thumb. You can pull anything if you try hard enough.
