Sometimes it's perfectly obvious that the ball is below my feet. So before I swing, I'll adjust a few degrees to the left.
Other times it looks like I'm on perfectly flat ground. Then I get frustrated when I hit a relatively straight white line yet the ball angles in one direction or the other on lift-off. Or perhaps I'm describing ball squirt here?
And while I'm at it, let me ask something else that's been on my mind:
I didn't go through the tips and trick thread and spreadsheet until last week, after a month of playing. Reading through how the wind should be calculated into your shots on head winds and tail winds really helped my game. I play with a mouse, so I'm not really able to use the 1.5 clicks to the left or right based off speed of wind rule. So I really just hold down left or right until I feel that I've compensated enough.
For high end mouse users on here, how have you adapted that rule to work with mouse usage?

Per your first question: I believe that is ball squirt. The long irons (3 and 4 and a lesser extent to 5) are very sensitive to ball lie and also if mishit to the left and right as well, so it would make sense to me that they are more sensitive to ball squirt.
I cannot answer to your bottom query as I play on PC with a PS4 DualShock4 controller.

As for the clicks...I use fade/draw instead of aiming left/right. So for a tee shot, wind is moving left to right 10mph. I usually 'click" my fade/draw 8 clicks on drives/long irons. As we get to the mid irons I add another 1 or 2. For SW / LW i will go over another 1 to 2. When I was doing the old way of just aiming if the wind was 10mph cross. I would move 1.5 over, so 15 quick clicks of the arrow key for long drive/irons. For shorter clubs I could go as many as 2x the wind. It is all about experimentation as some keyboard a 'click' will move the golfer more/less than other keyboards.

I think it would be great to have a zoom cam for lies in the fairway just like on the putting green. I'm with you on the fact that sometimes the lie is not quite distinguishable

It's not like you can't tell that whether the above the ball or below in real life any less than you can on a putting green.

It is all about experimentation as some keyboard a 'click' will move the golfer more/less than other keyboards. I used the draw fade options for a week or so and found that it wasn't worth it to me. If you can't tell by my handle, my shots can be erratic from time to time. Having a cone that's just a little wider can make a world of different for me in putting the ball where I want it to go. Going by taps of the keyboard for left and right is probably a better idea than the way I've been doing it. I've been going by feel and just holding down the left or right button based off the wind. If it's a wind blowing east at 10 mph, I'll hold the button left button down for about half a second on a 9 iron. If it's a 3 iron instead, then maybe more like a quarter second. Definitely not as scientific as counting clicks, but certainly feels a lot more natural. But I should give the counting keyboard taps a shot as I'm pretty giving up a few strokes each round by misjudging the wind.
