As promised we are continually monitoring the tours to keep them alive and well - and the changes below should help repopulate the higher tours while giving more a chance to move up on the CC as well.
Effective: Now (W32)
Earning a Promotion/Tour Card on Web/PGA/Euro New: While using a Sponsor's Exemption on the PGA, Euro, or Web.com Tours you finish in the top 70 of all participants Old: While using a Sponsor's Exemption on the PGA, Euro, or Web.com Tours you finish in the top 40 of all participants and are the top 3 finishers of Exemption participants
Earning Exemptions on CC-A/Web New: Web.com: You will earn a Sponsor's Exemption to PGA/Euro if you finish in the Top 5 plus ties in your event. CC-A: You will earn a Sponsor's Exemption to Web.com if you finish in the Top 10 plus ties in your event. Old: You will earn a Sponsor's Exemption if you finish in the Top 5 plus ties in your event.
Earning Exemptions on CC-B to Z New: To earn exemption you must be within 15 shots of highest (worst) scoring leader in all flights above yours. Old: To earn exemption you must be within 10 shots of highest (worst) scoring leader in all flights above yours.

This is something that has confused me from inception.
Highest Worst scoring leader
I dont get that, it seems to cancell itself out. Lower score = Better Higher = worst...how are they a leader then?
What am i missing lol

The edit window time is over so I have to double post.
Let me ask it this way.
I'm in CC-C i Finished the Scottsdale at -1 total.
What score in CC-B would I need to beat to get an exemption?

What am i missing lol Ex. Winners on FlightsCC-A 22-under (this guy is the highest/worst scoring leader) CC-B 23-under CC-C 25-under So exemptions on CC-D would go to anyone that shot 7-under or better (taken from CC-A winner -> 22-15=7) instead of 10-under or better (from CC-C winner) because CC-A was the worst/highest winner.

If either the CC-B or CC-A winner shot 16-under or worse you're now getting an exemption. Remember it's all flights above you - not just immediately above you. (these numbers are as of W32)

AHHH ok I get it now, I guess my mind was hung up on the word "worst".
Thanks very much for helping a middle aged man who is losing his mind understand something simple. Now off to figure out how to work the roll of toilet paper holder.

Wow top 10 on CC-A gets an exemption. Sweet. When you say effective from now does that mean then anyone that shot top 10 at Thousand Islands this past week get to play on web or starting from this coming week?

Just a reminder that promotion rules for the CC tour didn't change and remain:
- While using a Sponsor's Exemption on the Challenge Circuit, you finish in the top 70 of all participants in the flight and finish in the top 3 of Exemption participants OR finish in the top 70 of all participants in the flight and within 10 strokes of the top Exemption participant in the flight.
Main difference now is there should be more guys competing on exemptions.

Very good move Doyley. I think there's plenty of good players, certainly between CC-A and CC-C, that will benefit from this and will more than hold their own in the higher flight. That'll also give the up and coming players more opportunities to compete for a top 5/10/25 on their flight when that wouldn't have been as easy under the old exemption rule.
Win win all round.

how does this affect me? only make the cut? Yes, on Web or Pro tours you just need to make the cut or top 70 (for events with no cut) - like we had it originally

how does this affect me? only make the cut? You're in. 82 registered and some won't finish all four. There may not even be a cut this week. Your score that you mentioned isn't that bad. The staff here seems to be trying hard to stock upwards more with these changes. Good move. Coupled with the Q-School scoring changes I think it benefits in the long run and also tries to keep turnover down as much as possible. Good work!
