Don't sweat it at all Martin! I joined a couple of tournaments ago after a +2 overall Q School and have been in the +30's total for two tourneys with a resulting two demotion strikes. I think the competition part of it definitely makes you tense up while playing which is also what makes it great. I will likely move down to the CC-C after this tourney but am happy to keep trying as this site makes what was already a great game that much more addictive!
Good luck to you and welcome aboard!
Steve

Thanks Steve, I started round 3 earlier and what a total waste of time. I think after 5 holes I'm already 5 over par, I know why, it's because I just can't be bothered to try, which is not like me.

Easier said than done Martin but not trying definitely isn't the way to go. I did that on the last 4 holes of the final round and I have a feeling it will potentially cost me an exemption to A by a stroke or two. It's never easy but if you can, put that controller down and take a breather. I'm one of the ones that doesn't and continue to regret it.

Yeah thats what I normally do, down controller and pick up cup of tea lol.
Probably like everybody else it's just frustration at playing like a complete plonker. Things will get better. I'll just finish off my third and fourth rounds today and look forward to the next challenge.
Thanks for the support guys, it's much appreciated.

I did in this tournament(I'm in CC-E now) and I completely rage played the 4th round to a ballooned 102. I just wanted it over with. I have since put together 6 rounds on upcoming courses at a combined -2 for 6 rounds. I know it may not sound like much but to me it's a huge accomplishment to put together that type of stretch. I hope I can learn from it and try to stay focused come the next tournament. If I can cure my hiccups in each round I will be golden. When you shoot a 2 under 70 and have 5 bogies..it can be annoying. Baby steps.

Hi PP31, yeah I raged quit on hole 5 last night lol and played a few relaxing rounds all bogey free and under par. My putting on the tour was abysmal but when I played the 2 'relaxing' rounds it was fine, one I finished -9 and the other -5. Soooooooooo frustrating lol.

After week 31 (first event on the tour - first strike ) I decided to practice even more, and in some way the stubbornness is paying dividends. Closed my first 2 rounds at -6 which is not that great, but coming from a +11 it's refreshing at least Had a great start in the first round with five birdies in the front 9 and two bogeys - one of course at the infamous 5th hole...then I got somehow scared by the good score and started to think every shot too much. Ended up with two more birdies but also two more bogeys (one from wind miscalculations...) and got out in 69. Started then R2 a bit tense: hands shaking and sweating plus a couple of putt missed literally by inches made a score of 37 in my first 9 (for a +1). Really disappointed with myself I started then to calm down and get the score-panic out of my mind. After that I managed to line four more birdies for a bogey free second 9, another 69 on the scorecard and a total of -6. Now the last two rounds awaits....and tension starts to build again

These kind of courses don't belong on this tour there is a reason we're in the circuit tour. Come already!!! I totally disagree with this comment. I thought this was the perfect course for the Challenge Circuit tours...not too easy, but "easy enough", and not too hard. As of the time of this posting after two rounds, the leaders of CC-A through CC-D are all at -10 or better, with only the CC-B leader at -20. I don't like tourneys that have the top-10 scores in the -40s and -30s. I'd much rather play a tourney where the winner is somewhere between -15 to -25 for most CC flights. There is such a large difference/variety in skills for players throughout the CC flights that it can be difficult to choose a course that is a "good fit" for everyone. I think this course has just the right balance of ease (e.g., medium speed greens, no putting on pavement like last week), challenges (water and bunkers to contend with), and thinking needed (do I pull out the driver to go long and risk it between the bunker and water or do I pull out the "245" or "225" and play it safe?). A couple of the pin placements could've been much better. There are at least five holes where the pin is on a semi-steep slope; that's the kind of stuff that does not belong in CC tours (or any tour, for that matter). But all in all, I thought this course was just right for the CC tours.

You're certainly entitled to your opinion. These courses are too much for a tour two or 3 levels below the PGA.

Another tourney where one bad or semi-bad round is going to pull down three good rounds.
R1 = 67 (-5) R2 = 68 (-4) R3 = 70 (-2) R4 = 65 (-7) 13-14 mph winds Total = 270 (-18)
Very disappointed about that third round, and the winds weren't even hard. I had a couple of 92% drives that really cost me, with one of them going into the water. I believe I did good enough to barely make it into the top-10 by the tourney's end. Not sure if I'll earn an exemption also.
cool79breeze was one of the ghost balls that I played against. Also played against a ghost that ended the tourney at -29 (can't remember the PSN ID, something like adambomb), because that was the lowest score when I played, and I figured I'd have to be within 10 strokes of that player to earn an exemption (which I was not).
Good luck, good skills, and good shots to all those who still have rounds to play! I'm traveling all next week, and if the tourney isn't up by late Friday (I fly out Saturday morning), I'll be taking a week off.

Seriously...How the F are people -20 under after 2? I mean jesus christ.... One good tournament and then 2 rounds that make me feel like I should be demoted down 3 damn tiers...
I can understand having us on the CC play harder courses to help us improve but man, when crap like this comes around it makes me want to smash my controller...

There's only one who's -20 and no doubt he'll be moving up the flights in no time so I wouldn't worry. The next best is -16. I'm one of them yet, as mentioned in my opening post, I finish -13 overall so I don't expect these scores to carry over to the final two rounds (though they won't be as bad as my final two that's for sure).
