Ok, you know you're a bit addicted to this game when you're sitting around the forums at 8:55 PM PST on a Friday night to:
1) See where you stand among everyone's four round scores for week 31 and
2) Start the week 32 tournament right away and finish without taking a break.
I think I'm consistent enough that I don't have to worry about dropping a flight, but I don't think I'll ever be good enough to get within 10 strokes of the best CC player in either CC-A or CC-B to be able to move up to CC-B.
Winds were something like:
11 mph 9 mph 6 mph 13 mph
Off the top of my head. Not as bad as last week, but the greens will DESTROY you if you approach it from the uphill side. I think I had 3 or 4 three putts and possibly even a 4 putt for a handful of double bogies. I did, however, birdie the dreaded hole #14 on the first two rounds only to double bogey it in the third and bogey in the fourth.
I finished
+1 -3 +4 -1
Good luck everyone!

I think I may have earned a cc-a card this week on an exemption, so hope to enjoy being in this tier of the cc circuit. Good luck to all.

I cant wait to get this one over with, and be done with it. If I finish even par for all 4 rounds then I will be happy. Hope to recreate the hole in one on the 8'th I got last night in a practice round

If anyone happens to play my ghost on round three, there is a reason I put it in the water TWICE on the second hole. Phone rang at the worst possible time. Sliced so bad I wound up in the creek and the drop put me in a bad place behind trees, had to fade huge to get around them, of course I shanked it with that much fade...water episode #2. I never recovered from that 9 on a par 4 lol.
1'st round by the end I was confident too, shot a +1. Then I decided to implode from that point on. And man I fought it, bogie, birdie next one, bogie..never gave up but in the end I'll take my strike, feel free to put it on me now lol. You know as pissed off I am about my final score, I actually enjoyed playing the tourney, just because I knew I could make up for my mistake on a previous hole and playing for that kind of was fun, I knew I was out of contention so I just decided to just get some decent shots in here and there. In the end, I suck.
I saw lots of bunkers, water 5 times. I think this course has fairways on there somewhere, but I rarely saw them. lol...All in good fun
I can still celebrate though, I never have to see that course again. The grind is over.

Played the first round and shot -4 (7 birdies, 3 bogeys). Lots of really unlucky bounces into bunkers led to the bogeys and took away a few birdie chances. I don't think the course is really all that tough, but I think it requires people to think carefully about club selection. Honestly, I think this course is great in its set-up because it will punish bad or poorly thought out shots harshly but almost every hole is a realistic birdie chance (even playing a safe tee shot) if you know where to land the ball, unlike last week where you just had to hope the ball wouldn't skid from the front of the green to behind the green.
As a note, I don't know why #14 is that big of a deal. If you land just past the pin and to the left, you roll down about 20 feet away (and from what I remember, it is a short approach shot). However, it's a relatively easy uphill putt from there that should lead to no worse than a 2 putt. I guess if you are on the right side of the hole, it leads to a brutal putt. I think #5's pin location is much worse if you get unlucky with no roll to the front of the green or are on the wrong side.

Just played the first two rounds & couldn't buy a putt! You know your not on your 'A' game when you think you're playing a lob shot only for it to be a normal shot & see the ball fly into the opposite bunker!! Went from -3 to level on that error alone. Generally played course well from tee to green & happy how I played, just my putting that really lets me down. Ach well two rounds still rounds to play...main thing being...it's fun...and there's always the next one!!!

This is a tougie Good luck earning your CC-C promotion! If you're capable of hitting 7 birdies in a round, you're certainly capable of an under par finishing. Even just under par would certainly be good enough for you to stick around. Just have to be willing to swallow your pride and play for par when the odds are against you sometimes!

On exemption this week, hi everyone.
68, 67 start but on round 3 I developed a horrible hook and I couldn't stop doing it. Managed to scramble a 71 out of it leaving me -10 after day 3 but I need a break. I can't play the high winds of day 4 with this hook. I'm going to sleep on it and continue tomorrow.
Hoping to stick around with you guys in CC-C.
Good luck all.

I had a bunch of balls going off the border between land and water, hanging up on the top of green backstops and so on and finished with a score I'm not going to bother to turn in.

Nice to see to of my late night golfing buddies playing in the same challange circuit level. Good luck getting your tour card Lewis. I get the feeling we will be passing each other on the ladder in the not to distant future. Pity about your putting this tour Kenny. I have seen you play well on this course but sometimes it just does not go for you on the day. Cya on the course for some off that practice soon.

Great shooting Lewis.... Hopefully the three of us that got the exemption this week play well enough to stay in CC-C
Ended up -7 for the four rounds ... Hope it's enough to hang around ... Wished I could have finished that first round the way it started ha ha
It was a lot of fun .... Good luck gang
