As we continue to add new members to the Tours each month, many of our newcomers may need some help in understanding the nuances and details of the TGC Tours operation. To ease any confusion over finding help with all TGC Tours-related issues, and to help the admin team address as many issues as possible, please use this as a starting point for all support issues. The following buckets listed below represent the majority of questions that we receive from members.
New to TGC Tours / Q-School Information
The best place for information to help you get started on TGC Tours and with procedures for completing Q-School is our Info, Rules, and Policies page. Pay particular attention to the procedures for entering your scores, and be sure to mark your scores correctly!
The exact naming structure for Q-School can also be found each month in this thread.
Please note, the Q-School tour consists of 6 total rounds, so give yourself several days to complete the tour. If you do not think you will finish before the end of the month, wait until the next month’s Q-School to ensure that you can finish.
If you have any technical issues surrounding the playing of your rounds or submitting your scores, please contact commish@tgctours.com for help.
Tournament Registration
Full details on registering for tournaments are available here.
Your most important details to remember will be regarding registration dates.
Registration opens 14 days in advance of the start of a tournament. Registration closes 48 hours prior to the official start date of tournament.
It is the responsibility of the player to ensure that you have registered for an event. You must check that you are in the player field after registering. You should also see a Withdraw link on the Upcoming Events and on the Tournament pages for that event when successfully registered for an event. Report any issues prior to the registration deadline passing to commish@tgctours.com.
Anyone that claims they registered but are no longer in the field, and does so after the deadline, will have to provide proof that they had been registered. If you miss the registration deadline send an email requesting late registration to commish@tgctours.com - you may get in if max field is not met.
Finding Your Tournament to Play
Finding the correct tournament to play is one of the most common support requests that we receive. Since some of our events feature one pin location, and others feature multiple pin placements, some of our events are in the Tournaments section, while others are in the Tours section.
The best way to ensure that you are looking for the correct tournament is to frequently consult the weekly-updated forum thread. This thread includes the exact name of the tournament to look for, and whether it is a Tournament or Tour. For Challenge Circuit players in particular, please note that there is just one event for all CC members, regardless of flight.
When a tournament will feature multiple pins, it is also announced within the appropriate forum for that tour. To keep yourself informed of upcoming events (and also to regularly participate with fellow Tour members) visit the “Tours” section of the TGCTours forums and find the board for your Tour.
Submitting Scores
Much like the real world golf tours, submitting your scores in a timely and accurate manner is important, or else you risk the chance of your scores being disqualified. The procedure for submitting your scores, and details on deadlines for submitting your scores, are all available here and should be reviewed carefully.
Any issues or discrepancies surrounding scores should be addressed immediately with commish@tgctours.com.
Promotion / Demotion / Exemptions
In order to provide the best competitive environment for all players, systems are in place to ensure that all players are competing at the proper level in relation to their skill level. Due to the number of members playing in the Tours and our growing numbers each month, these systems can be slightly on the complex side. Understanding them will require a bit of reading, but we feel it is worthwhile to know how the system works so you know what you are playing for. Please start here for details on earning promotions, exemptions, and receiving a demotion.
Gameplay Issues
It is important to remember that the TGC Tours community is not affiliated with the developers of the game, HB Studios. Any technical issues or bugs with the game should be addressed to the staff members over at the HB Studios Forum.
If you experience any gameplay issues that affect your rounds or ability to submit scores, please contact commish@tgctours.com.
Community Participation
For most general questions about participating in TGC Tours or anything related to The Golf Club game, the community at the TGC Tours Forum is very helpful and always willing to offer tips or advice. Frequent participation and interaction with the TGC Tours community is a great way to immerse yourself in the Tour experience and get the most out of the game.
For most support issues that do not involve registering for tournaments or submitting scores (which should be handled by contacting commish@tgctours.com), please consult the forums first, as you can likely find a quick and easy answer to most of your questions there.
TGC Tours Twitter Account
If you aren’t already following TGC Tours on Twitter, please follow @tgctours. Our Twitter account is a great way for us to reach out to the community, showcase great courses and great tournament performances by our members, and generally reach more potential virtual golfers who might be interested in joining the Tours.
Twitter is not the ideal place to receive support, however. Our Twitter volunteers are often only able to make a handful of posts each day, and won’t be able to provide on-demand support for our tour members (not to mention the 140-character limit). For any urgent support issues, your best resources are our Info, Rules, and Policies page, reaching out to the community at the TGC Tours Forums, or contacting commish@tgctours.com for all administrative matters.
