I'm asking this cause people have said that PC players who use Mouse have an advantage, but I know I play with a mouse and am wondering how many out there actually use a mouse and where have you finished.

I use a mouse; only played one tournament so far, and am likely to finish in the bottom reaches of the leaderboard. No vote category for me, but I don't see how it is an advantage.

I first got TGC on my XBone and played on it for a week or so but could never get the hange really of using the controller. I then saw it was available on PC and you could use the mouse so I got it on PC, also. I have at times gone back and tried on controller a few times and never could get it. Then I read something over at HB about "flicking" the controller. I had been doing the entire stroke with my thumb from all the way back to all the way forward. I tried last night again on the console and after 6 or 7 holes I got it. 100% shots and mostly all straight. I am going to try tonight using the XBone Controller with the PC, as I like the graphics quality better on the PC, and see if I like that better than the mouse.

I use a controller on the PC. I've also won a tournament. That must mean I'm great! I'm a flicker too. So much so that quite a few times the computer doesn't recognise it and the swing is reset. I bet those shots we're going to finish within 5ft of the hole too.

You have an advantage on a mouse when you start fudging with the settings, like you do and did bright. To me it's no different than a controller with a sensitivity slider on it.

Boy you are living in the past, Taste. Having my DPI set to 700-800 is not gaining an advantage. If you knew anything about mice, you would know that while you can lower the DPI of a mouse, there comes a point where sure you can hit really nice shots but you won't get anywhere near 100% power cause you simply cannot move the mouse fast or far enough to do so. This is why HB recommends 800 DPI for mice for they know anything higher you won't be able to keep a swing within the red cone most times and anything less you really can't get a 100% swing. I use a mouse because of my thumb issues won't let me really play well with a controller. Personally I believe controllers are far easier to get a good swing than a mouse, but that is my opinion. Come into the present Taste, love to have you back.

This poll needs options for mouse and controller users that have never made top 25 to be legit imo. It would help your cause to be able to compare ratios of mouse and controller winners to their non winning counterparts.

Just watched your mouse swing video in another thread. It would seem you may have an advantage because you only move the mouse maybe one quarter to one half inch in either direction on a flat stable surface. That is just speculation. I am on PC and use the 360 wired controller. Never tried the mouse swing. I have had half a dozen or so top 10s on the old WEBc and one on the new CCa. You seem overly concerned about your status as a mouse user. I say " if its in the game its in the game". Mouse swing is in the game.

Yeah that was an old mouse swing when I was trying to figure out an appropriate DPI setting. Mice used to have 200, 400, 600 DPI settings, now you can get them above 8k!! Of course people don't need 8k settings unless they are using multiple monitors but mice now days usually start 1500 or more. HB suggests a DPI of around 800, because they know if you go too high, it is very very hard to keep the swing within the red cone. Go to low and it is near impossible to get a 100% swing. HB also knows that every mouse and user is different just like every controller and user is different. So there is only recommendations on what they suggest using their own data. My current swing is about 1 to 1 1/2 inches long. It is more fluid (less jerky) and is MUCH better for putts. I've never used a controller for this game. I'm told by my friends here who do use them, they are superior as the swing is using just your thumb, while a mouse uses the entire hand/wrist. Controllers are also spring loaded which for some really does help with putting cause they have a tactile feel of how far to pull back for putts. The reason I asked this question is all my friends who play PC use controllers and I'm the only one who use a mouse, so I was curious as to who used them and which seems better. By the poll it looks like those who use controllers are more successful, but that may be cause there are simply more people who use controllers over a mouse.
