The rage on this greens is real ! The shots are not hard on this course...it's very playable. I don't know the reasoning behind the lightning fast greens by the designer. The greens would be tough with moderate speed because there just aren't many if any flat spots.

Couple of times I tried to approach very short, on the avant green or even the light rough. Got bounced on the green and out on the other side. That's frustrating

Here's the course description page...note that it says under difficulty "EASY" www.tgctours.com/Course/Details/16001When I play a practice round the difficulty in game reads "HARDEST" I think we may have found where the deception lies in picking these courses for CC-Tour events.

I think I read somewhere on here a few weeks back that the difficulty level will change in game as more people play the course. Therefore though it might be published as Easy on the website, if people are struggling when playing the course the difficulty in game is adjusted accordingly. Something along those lines anyway. Practice definitely helps though. Managed a -4, -5 and -6 over three practice rounds tonight. In fairness, there are plenty of birdies opportunities to be had on this course though they can easily turn into bogeys. It certainly makes it interesting. Playing this course into an 18mph wind would be another matter though. Dread to think what the scores would be in those conditions.

I just recently had a round where I got to 3 under going into 12...then went..double bogey, double bogey, triple bogey on 13,14,15 and hit my tee shot into the water on 16. I quit the game and poured a stiff whiskey at that point.

Just finished -8 and that included just one birdie and 8 pars on the back 9 so -7 after 9! Thing is I know come the tournament I'm going to balls it all up as I'm useless under pressure. Have you decided whether you're going to play it as I know you had reservations? At least have the whiskey at hand if you do!

You could be strolling only to finish over par come the end. That's the back 9 for you. It can be a killer on this course. And thank the lord it's not multi-pin otherwise I'd be sharing that whiskey with you!

This is true. My one and only golf course that I have published - Mendenhall Flats Golf Course (quick plug for my Alaska themed course) - started out with an in-game difficulty of "Hardest" after the first two players went +47 and +18 on it. After some seasoned/skilled players got some rounds in on it, the in-game difficulty setting changed to "Easiest".

Have you decided whether you're going to play it as I know you had reservations? At least have the whiskey at hand if you do! I'm a glutton for punishment. I'll hack my way through another tournament...it'll likely be my 3rd strike anyways and I'll be on my way to CC-E soon after it.

I'm starting to have nightmares about this course. I've done about 7/8 practice rounds and I still can't get consistently under PAR. It's going under my skin

It's going under my skin Hopefully it'll all click in the tournament mate. I think most people do better in practice but I sometimes find it the other way round. Though I don't expect to be hitting any where near -8 in tournament conditions on this course.

I was aggressive in the practice tourney trying to carry areas because I had the wind.. None of those shots worked and it cost me.. But now I know not to try that in the tourney.. 5 wood off the tee on this course on many holes is a good idea..

Very very tough greens. My first hole in my first round I ended up above the hole and put my 10-foot putt about 23 feet past...
However, I don't find it too bad to get tee-to-green if I'm smart about it. Happy with -6 in round 1 but stumbled a bunch in Round 2 with higher winds (was over aggressive and ended up in the water twice on one hole...)

Happy with -6 in round 1 but stumbled a bunch in Round 2 with higher winds (was over aggressive and ended up in the water twice on one hole...) I just had a round that shows how easy it is to go from going good..to sucking wind. I made the turn after 9 at -3 for a 33. Best turn I've made on this course...I really should have walked away and came back. I proceeded to go +9 on the back for a 45 and I finished with a 6 over 78. I'll be glad when we're done with this course..although this tournament will undoubtedly be my 3rd strike. The next course is suppose to be harder...but I didn't really see it when I played a round. It's a target course..but at least the greens hold and you're not putting on asphalt.
