Yeah... Had to leave the game for the second time during round 2. Massive 16+Mph winds just wrecking me. +10 after 9. That's coming off a +17(!!!!!!!!) for the 1st round which saw winds of up to 9mph for me. I just can't judge the cross-wind approach shots properly. Dropped two in the drink on one hole because I only aimed about a greens length to the left of the flag and wind pushed the ball into the water twice in a row. God I suck at this game... I should have played that shot much safer and just aimed at the fairway about two greens lengths to the left of the flag. Problem is I really can't put at all once we are over 25ft from the hole. That's as good as a three put right there unless it's extremely flat.

One thing to recover from my last post above. Not sure and don't think strikes are issued in CC-Z, as where can one be demoted to on that tour? Stupid mistake on my part. Sorry, my bad!!
Orion.................. There are no strikes on CC-Z. Trust me. If anyone would know that, it would be me.

Thank you kind sir, I appreciate the confirmation and think that is what I just said. There is no place to go after CC-Z, which is a good thing. One thing to recover from my last post above. Orion - you really have me wondering now about what the hell has he shot? Is it good or is it bad? Don't know - just have to wait. All will be revealed in the fullness of time. One thing has me scratching my head though - these upper echelon players CCA etc. how the hell do they shoot so many birdies in those type of winds? It was a struggle for me ( and I'm sure many others) just to keep the damn ball on the fairway and hit the greens never mind being actually close enough to sink a birdie.

Puzzled Bogeyman,
The key for the Bigger Dogs in the upper echelon's are the approach shots (you already know that), and I too am amazed that the BD's can be so consistent with their shots. Plus, factor in their superior skills with reading the breaks and slopes on the greens and the excellent touch with speed control, well their scores do go up, just a little, in the higher winds. So, having said that, rather than them shooting 55-59 consistently with lighter winds, they move up to shooting 59-62 consistently in the higher winds. It all comes back to being consistent under all conditions, a fact that I am not lost on, but am extremely zealous about. I can only dream of playing 116th as good.
As to what I have shot in round 2, well.................. do not mean to be so suspenseful or melodramatic about it, just remember what group I am in and how this group is now thinning out some of the better players. My intentions are to project a certain level of realization that has come to me after last weeks rounds and how this week has started. I have given, although maybe not as obvious to you and others who have only been here a short time and are not all that familiar with some of my past tournaments, some information as to my current state of mind on all these new changes we are now living and playing with. Just remember that although we are not the very bottom group, we are the collection point for all who do not shoot that well in Q-school. My current state of mind and attitude goes back to week 9, the first tournament after the very first major changes that the Staff had to implement and change the entire system due to the tremendous growth that the TGC was experiencing . The particular course was the "Bushtail Valley Golf Resort". Let us just say that I lost my "sanity" during that tourney and that is where I kind of established my "image" as it were. Since that event, I have had some really hot streaks, and some bad weeks, but now, with all these new changes, the Bushtail side of my persona is re-emerging and I can not be held responsible for my actions. (LOL) I have pretty much stated everything except the score, so if you really think about what I have said already in the OP, do you think I am happy with the new rules (on exemptions) or not?? Once you can answer that, you can pretty well guess where my round 2 score is at. Plus, think about what scores are already posted and what score did you shoot? Good or Bad, the answer (not the value) is right in front of you! I just hope that you guys will not want to hang me after the scores are revealed. BTW, I have entered the 3 rounds of scores that I have played so far, tick tock, tick, tock........

After getting my third strike on CC-D, I'm happy to join CC-E. After looking at previous tournaments, this seems to be the level I'm currently playing at. Can't wait to tee it up!!!

Hi Brad, Although I am not the official welcome mat person, Welcome to the land of "E". If you are happy about coming down here with the rest of us, then I'm happy for you also. One thing though, do I recognize your Avatar as the "LSU" tiger paw? If so, then you are still welcome! (LOL) We are currently in the no "Strike Zone", so don't mess it up for the rest of us! (Massive LOL) Seriously, hope you do well here, give a shout out if you need anything, most of the guys and gals here are pretty resourceful and supportive people.

Jeez, One tigers paw, you've seen em all!! Sorry for the insult, not meant to be one. Now, my home state has the Original D.V. , the real one, CA. I'm sure yours is nothing like the one I know. Best of luck on the competition, you should do just fine I think.

Hi, If you look at where the ghost balls are aiming and eventually end up that will give you a little guidance on what the wind is doing. I did that when the I had crosswinds of 17mph+ and it helps a lot. Putting is another matter......... Allan

Rounds 2 and 3 with the winds tore me a new one. I was never going to win, but mid 70s 1 and 4, 90 at 2 and 3- quite a massive difference.

Can't wait to see the final results "It's all about The U" is a reference for The University of Miami. The college football team I root for. Just giving the Clemson fan a hard time. Even though we have sucked for a while now.
