I'm going to preface this by saying I'm not sure this thread belongs here, but I didn't actually know where to put it.
Basically, this is an idea for a course complex (more of a resort than an individual course) that I think would be fun, if a little difficult to implement. I'm sure it exists in many places in real life, but I only vaguely remember seeing it once, in Australia. The course was a 27 hole layout, split into three nines. Each nine was a different theme, with a unique feel to it (they were named, something like Dunes, Woods and Rocks), and the players would be told which 18 holes they were to play, and in which order. I'm not sure if this was done due to traffic, or to let the course recover or what, but it meant that there were essentially 3 different courses, or potentially 6 if you play the nines in a different order. I think that something like this could probably be done in TGC, and would be an interesting layout.
Just wanted to gather some thoughts on this idea, and maybe give some people ideas.

I believe this kind of resembles what you are looking for; www.tgctours.com/Course/Details/38There are 4 nine's on one plot, each with there own style of planting within the Alpine theme: Lake, Mountain, Meadow, and River. Regardless of whether the differentiation in themes works, it's a pretty damn good course. I believe the Meadow/Mountain combination was used on one of the tours early in the season, but you can play several different combinations of nine's if you search for More By Designer.

Ah yes, I played that event but didn't realise they were 2 9s of 4. I believe Job did @ 27 hole plot with one 18 used on tour as well: www.tgctours.com/Course/Details/4453Princes Golf Club in Kent (England) is a beautiful course with 3 sets of 9, the Dunes, Shore and Himalayas. It's a links course and once many many years back hosted The Open Championship. I think Dunes/Shore is the original course. Once shot +1 gross on that course and if I ever do a real course recreation it would be that course. I would love a 4 day setup on tour using different combos of the 9 holes across the days, would be different but I believe it would be an interesting challenge
