Well, finished my tournament rounds. The stat work Tim is doing is really remarkable for those that haven't checked it out. Discovered from looking at the tournament player stats that tee to green I compete pretty well. But I'm generally losing 0.2 shots *per hole* to those around me on the leaderboard due to putting. That's 14 shots over the course of a tournament. So... I know where I need to improve, and really tried to pay more attention to putting this week. Spend a bit more time on the reads... get a bit more aggressive with speed.
I think it paid off, I ended up playing the best I think I can play. -11, -10, -11, -11. Not sure where I'll end up on the leaderboard, but I don't really care. (though a top 25 would be nice) Finally had a tournament where I felt every round was a strong showing, and was happy with my play. Felt especially good since I've been a bit frustrated with my game over the past month-ish.
Gotta tip my hat to those of you that threaten the tops of the leaderboards every week. Four strong rounds is very difficult to accomplish.

Finished with my rounds for this week, and I'm pretty happy the way it turned out: Rd1: 62 (-10) Rd2: 62 (-10) Rd3: 59 (-13) Rd4: 61 (-11)So I'm sitting at -44 at the end of the tournament, which hopefully will be good enough to stay in the Top20 (T10th after Rd3 actually). I'm feeling pretty good about my gameplay at the moment, and I hope it's gonna stay like this for the rest of the season. Had a couple of highlights in this tournament for the first time probably, like an Ace in Rd3 an Albatros in Rd2. Lucky me! I'm still asking myself if I was just a Happy Gilmore this week, or if my game is somehow improving lately? However... really happy with that result!

Can someone please explain how to play #15 for me? The last par 5 on the course. Something like stroke hole 17 or close to it, which means it's one of the easiest holes on the course relative to it's par. I couldn't get anywhere close to the green in two any of the four rounds. Tried different ways to go about the approach shot, but I ended up parring it all four rounds.
Was there some sort of method of playing this thing that I just missed? (I don't play with ghost balls... like to try to figure stuff out on my own... but this hole baffled me how everyone else played it so well)

Fairway wood up the fairway (you won't reach the green unless the wind is helping) Pitch/Flop, trying to keep it short of the pin for an uphill putt. Putt for birdie

How were the winds for everyone else?
Have now played all 4 rounds in 16-18mph winds.. Lowest wind was 13mph on the last hole of Rd 4... Finished on -45, which I'm quite pleased about given the conditions...
This wind update cannot come soon enough..

I had 10-13 in Round 1 and it gradually decreased during my 4 rounds to virtually nothing by the end (played in one sitting) Seriously impressive to tie me in those conditions. Wind update is here

I did the same in LGGT this week, played, when I should have waited. I'm not sure what my winds were when I played? It was last weekend so I don't remember. I'm absolutely sure they weren't that strong, maybe in the 6-13 range for me I think? They seemed to increase more in the last couple of rounds. So probably 6-10 rounds 1 and 2, 6-13 rounds 3 and 4? I have just been playing RGT-JFF week 5. Every course except for the last one seemed to be in hurricane conditions. Now that is what you call brutal, no aids on at all. It is an accomplishment just to hit the green at times. I just played the fourth round there and didn't make a single birdie. The winds were steady at around 20 mph!!

Kills me seeing my name at the top of the leaderboard after 3 rounds knowing i choked away a chance at my first victory with a final round -7. Maybe next week I'm right there with ya bud. I was one of the 3 tied for the lead after 2 rounds. Shot an OK -10 in the 3rd round, and then knowing I needed -18 to win, I was really thrilled with my first ever tournament ace on nbr 5 and was on pace. Then I birdied the next hole, and then finished with 12 straight pars for a measley -6. Not only did I kill my shot at contention, I fell 2 shots shy of my 1st Top 10 finish. Really want to boot myself in the ass.
