because somebody has to be the bad guy, if nobody speaks up, this becomes the normal way to increase course difficulty.
so i dont mind the hatred shed my way, if a few designers take note, it was worth it.

Taste, in the politest possible way mate you gotta get over yourself.. Seriously!!! On one hand, thankyou so much from the community for your always insightful videos. Now on the other hand. Just quit it with your degrading views on peoples designs. I personally chose not to enter your debate regarding Growling Frog. It is what it is and I'm happy with how it turned out(I would however change the fairway bunkers on 6&14 and add more rough but at that point in time I hadn't learned how to add rough to an already placed bunker to give it more of a collar and my intent for the bunkers were for them to be in play so it is what it is, like folks have said, you can see them, don't go in them...). Now back on track. I should create a thread and I might do we'll see but hers my VENT!! I'm sick to death of the complaints by many around course design. I for one am amazed at the quality of courses available by an array of great designers. The execution in the courses is to a super high quality and basic design principles and advanced design principles are used in them all..... This game isn't perfect, it's ridiculously close but it is flawed and the biggest one is 'sticky fairways and sticky rough/heavy rough'. Now in fairness yes your bunkers look fantastic but 9 times out of 10 I never find them when I should on your courses. Why? Sticky heavy rough as a bunker collar, and your over fascination with fairways not falling off into them. TBH your bunkers shouldn't even be in your designs as I never find them. Did you happen to catch any Chambers Bay US Open coverage. You probably turned it off in disgust. Why as a design community can we not use design concepts from the best courses in the world? You said it in this latest vid. In game the ball needs a little help to find hazards that in RL it would have done or would have been expected to for the most part. In game they stick like the ball has hit a slick of glue, therefore IMO sacrifices should be made for the ball to reach the hazards. At a minimum I feel that bunkers need a collar of rough around them or fairways trailing slightly off into them. Otherwise the only time you'll hit a bunker is a plug and that's not a true representation of golf at all. This latest slander is harsh at best. We all know that the course designer is one of the best in game and he has been instrumental in teaching the community with all things GNCD. It's obvious that pin location slipped thru the cracks so cut him some slack. You can't bash people and chuck a hissy fit for all to see. Again Why??? Because everyone who plays the course has to deal with the same pin. It's extremely unfortunate for the designer that something has changed in that area by the slightest margin for it now to not hold shots. Strange things happen when a course is published and things are slightly altered all the time, for most of us tho it's in places that doesn't affect the playing of the course and in this instance it does. The designer went on record saying that there was an issue and you go and jump on board and ridicule the point. How fair is that Taste..... This video tho for the most part is informative for the novice designer and I think it has a place for its educational value. But to tie it into your previous experience is wrong. Don't stop with your videos, just be more discreet or more conscious of the fact that you could offend somebody. Your tone at times is really condescending and isn't a great look at all. Dare I say it, did you have to come back over to TGCT??? It's quite clear that you see no reason to change the way you are and your sportsmanship is of a very poor standard.... Take a look at yourself and tone things down and approach things the right way and who knows you might start getting some respect and some people listening to your views rather than the all to common, "Here we go again, Taste showing his dis-Taste again!!!" You don't have to come across as the holy grail course designer that you are not. Your really good don't get me wrong and I enjoy your courses a great deal but your course do lack the RL playability a little with no light rough. I'll finish up by saying that I like your use of OB on your courses of late. Looking at the overhead and seeing OB sometimes left and right is a gear way to add an uneasy mind frame into a player and something I will look into doing a bit of. Cheers.

no more video. *shrug* I hereby give Taste permission to destroy my courses and my design ideas in any way he deems fit. I will in no way ever be offended or upset. I totally agree that sometimes it can get a bit heavy buddy but I want you to know (and anyone else if you want) that you have permission from me to tear me a new one whenever you like. If you ever want a crappy example of something just let me know and I'll find one on my own work for you to disparage to your heart's content.
