My second course under construction right after Tortuga is a highlands track. This theme looks incredible. I'm very early in the stages of making it, but I figured I'd go ahead and start a WIP for it to get some feedback. I'm only through 3 holes, but please let me know how it looks. I'm really trying to achieve a course that plays well in a links style here. Pictures will come below.

Alright here are some VERY early pictures of this one. Completed #'s 1 and 2 for the most part and will have 3 done tonight. Everything looks a bit bland for now since no holes are laid out, these will run very closely to each other to create a better look. #1 tee. A downhill tee shot that has a very nice view of everything. Bunkers and elevation make this a pretty tricky opening drive. #1 fairway. A bit of an uphill approach shot that goes over a large ditch. If you miss short, you'll be in a deadly bunker probably. #1 green. A green with plenty of options to put yourself in a spot you'd like. This particular hole location can be a tough one to get close to unless you land short and left and hope for a nice bounce. Behind #1 green. A look back at the fun you just had. #2 tee. A longer par 3 straight downhill that has a large landing area in the fairway that can be used. Plenty of options once again. #2 green. A view of the landing area and the tiers on the 2nd. Behind #2 green. Let me know what you guys think so far. This is completely heavy roughed, it's the look I wanted.

Yeah I'm liking the look. Traditional shaped bunkers and the shrubbery look spot on for a links course and the theme looks nice on not so rugged terrain. Couldn't get it to look right on my WIP. Have published another test version of the full 18 so I'm thinking I might load it back up in the designer and throw heavy rough down everywhere and see of I can get it to look right as I'm digging the proper coastline of this theme and I didnt want to spoil the look of my countryside course by laying down heavy rough everywhere and the pain of deleting it all if it still didn't look decent enough..... Looking forward to more on this course to in the future. Looking great duke

I'm really enjoying it so far, but it is tough to plant everything by hand. I'm gonna give your test a go later on and let you know what I think. I loved the front 9. Thanks for the feedback bud. About to post #3 pics.

Just finished #3 pretty much. Long par 4 with a forgiving green that has plenty of room to land. #3 tee. #3 left rough, plenty of vegetation in the ditch. #3 fairway. #3 green. Flag isn't in for some reason. It's on the top of the tier towards the right. Tough location. Behind #3 green. A look back. #4 will run parallel to the right side of the ditch back towards the water. Hate how bare is still looks in spots but that will change once more holes are down and planting starts to fill up.

looking good an coming along just nicely , with fine workmanship creating/thinking Thanks Kiwi. I appreciated your help. Np, I quite like tossing ideas/help out there ... an seeing them unfold ... an then, I get more of an idea on how some of the course design tricks are done. I liked the look of those rolling hills, of course

Got in more work today and finished the layouts of 4,5,6. I decided to not plant at all really until I'm done with general layout of the front 9. Then I'll go in and fill it up, so it will look a bit bare for now. #4 tee. A downhill par 5 with a tight tee shot that will test your distance measurement. A really beautiful sight off this tee. #4 fairway. #4 fairway. It's a bit uphill at the end into the green. #4 green. A massive green with plenty of options to run the ball towards the pin. The current location is back left and is accessible even with a ball that lands short of the green. Behind #4 green. #5 tee. A very short and drivable par 4. It's very risky to do that though. The smart play is a 3 iron or 5 wood to the fairway to give a lob wedge in. Make sure you yell fore to the players on #6 tee if you go for it. #5 fairway. #5 fairway. A view of what you'll have if you hit 5 wood to the end of the fairway. #5 green. A tricky and fast green. Behind #5 green. #6 tee. A shorter par 3 that requires precise distance to navigate the false front on a front pin. #6 green. You better hit your spot here. Behind #6 green. That's it for now. More to come!

I think this looks great. As I am too creating a links, aren't we all, this theme is awesome! As Rod said I like the non rugged look with the classic bunker shapes. Design of the holes looks to be well thought out. I have no doubts after your first course that this will be a stunner. And a son of a #$&@% to get around. Looking good

I was watching you work on hole #5 the other night for 30+ minutes. I am honored and in awe of the course designers here. That skill should not be taken for granted here, and I applaud all that design courses!
Cheers!

That skill should not be taken for granted here, and I applaud all that design courses! Cheers! Thanks for tuning in. #5 was pretty fun to make but it took me awhile to get the look down. It's taken a long time for me to be even competent at creating courses so I'm glad I'm starting to get it down.

Hey folks, I've slacked a bit on the pictures obviously, but the course is basically done. I have a beta out: "New TRAC Beta", but I'm gonna clean up on some planting and very minor things and should release it tomorrow. Looking forward to it.
