Hey folks. After a bit of a break from publishing my first course - The Club at Ridenour - I've decided to get back in the GNCD. Ridenour was extremely corrupt for some reason and each button took about 10 seconds to process, so I needed the break, and I'm glad to have a smooth designer working again. I've chosen the tropical theme for this one, and I'm definitely enjoying it. This course is set in Sanibel Island, Florida, one of my family's vacation spots when I was growing up. It's not based off a specific course there, but there is a course that I'm using some ideas off of in a way. My first step in building this course was creating a beach. It took a while, but I hope I've accurately depicted a nice beach that you'd see in Florida. This shouldn't be as difficult as Ridenour. It'll have much more forgiving tee shots, and it shouldn't be as long, but some greens will be tricky, and you will need to find the right side of the fairway to have flat lies and good angles. I completely stayed away from planting on Ridenour, but I've gone straight for it on this one. Hopefully it looks fine. I'm 6 holes through thus far, and I'll post some pictures below. Let me know what you think.

#1 tee. A medium-long par 4 with an easy opening drive #1 fairway. An uphill approach into a fairly difficult green that's quick and runs to the back left. Shouldn't have more than an 8 iron in with soft winds. Behind #1 green. #2 tee. A medium length par 3 with a large green. Don't miss long or you'll have a steep runoff to the fairway area behind the green. Behind #2 green. A nice little area with plenty of colorful grasses and bushes. #3 tee. An uphill tee shot for a potential reachable par 5 in good winds. The perfect drive is as far right as possible to get a good angle into the green. #3 fairway. A nice downhill shot into a well bordered green that should run to the pin with the right shot. #3 green. #4 tee. A clear view of the beach and ocean on a long par 4. Fairway runs right to the beach which is out of bounds. Some high winds could make this a tough hole. #4 green. A long green that runs towards the back. Most long irons will need to land towards the front of the green to get close. #5 tee. A short par 4 that has a fairly simple drive into the sun. #5 green. A smaller green that won't need much more than 8 iron to reach. A back pin location is tricky because of the runoff that plays much like #2. Don't get too aggressive. #6 tee. A downhill tee shot on a par 5 that should be reached in low winds. A left to right tee shot should help your case. #6 fairway. The 2nd shot can be difficult because of a tree that is in the path of the pin. Players will need to work their shots around it on either side to be safe. The tallest and oldest palm tree in Florida sits to the right of the fairway in a colorful flower bed. #6 green. Maybe the busiest green on the course is made of three tiers with the middle tier being a plateau for the other 2. There are plenty of options to use on this green and plenty of options to have a tough putt as well. Leaving yourself in a good spot after the 2nd shot is key. Behind #6 green. Looking back at one of the cooler holes on the course. Alright guys. That's what I have so far. Let me know what you think!

Hopefully the planting isn't too much and looks fairly natural so far.

Looking good. Nice beach! Those are hard to do. Thanks Jeff! It definitely took awhile to get the sculpting just right. I'm happy with how it turned out.
