Just finished my very first attempt on "Speed Golf".
My final score was -6, which I think is a pretty decent score. Leading the PS4-leaderboard at least (but with only a few scores submitted yet).
I have no idea how to value my time though. I stopped it approximately by myself, and was around 22mins 28secs. Don't know how that is gonna be compared to the competition, but I'll see (I'd guess it's pretty slow compared to the quickest players).
What I can say for sure is that it was fun to play, and the course is awesome!

I usually use my iPhone stopwatch and aim for approximately a minute per hole (15 seconds per stroke) -- haven't tried this week yet but will give it a go soon.

Shot even. Some lipouts really had me frustrated. Clicked through as quick as I could but had to actually aim for a few greens based on pins/contour.

Shot -3 at Merion. What a tough course!
Considering im playing like crap i think i did pretty well. I timed myself at about 15:39. will probably be around the 15:45 mark in the end im guessing.

I shot -10. No idea what my time was? Judging by my other attempts I suspect that it will be slower than most?
I missed one 5 footer, but holed most of my "should make" chances and narrowly missed a couple of outside chance birdies.

I don't know if i could of shot that without taking my time. That's very impressive. I have a feeling i won't do well this week. |

Ugh, I think I need to stop playing the speed challenges. It literally raises my blood pressure by 40 points. I swear and stress more in that 18 minutes than the rest of the week combined... Then I tried to play my TGCT round right after, and had to stop after 6 holes it was so bad...

Problem is with the load speeds on PS4. It takes about 1 minute just to get from the end of the 1 hole event to the tee-off on the 1st hole proper. Add to that the longer load times between shots/holes and there's not really much chance for anyone on PS4 unless you shoot -15.

It even took me longer to get from the one hole course to the main one. Really weird. My internet must have decided to be slow for that moment haha

Courses aren't cached on your machine they have to be downloaded so will almost certainly be down to connection speed. Keith I believe is based in Canada where I imagine the servers are... I have fibre broadband so its similar in terms of load times for me not that I've timed... Unfortunately unless we get given the time of first tee shot it will always be unfair in terms of that initial load. I imagine time between shots varies for many reasons too although that should be less noticeable.
