Could someone please tell me how you judge club distance? sometimes only get 96% power on a club!
The square graph on the screen doesn't make sense to me.
Long putts come up short even with extra power.

You're asking 3 different questions.
To prevent less than 100% on full shots pause your swing at the top of the backswing before coming forward. My guess is you are transitioning too fast.
The graph with the boxes makes a lot of sense IMO. If you move the line up you are increasing loft, with irons this will decrease distance, the converse of this is also true. The % of increase/decrease is written in the actual loft/curve screen.
Putting is a different mechanic. First you should position your aiming marker where you want to hit, so if the putt is 6 inches uphill I'm aiming at least 11 inches past the hole. Then you have to time the putt based on the length of the backswing. Anything over 35 feet and you really have to pull that putter back.

I was practicing hitting percentage shots last night and I found out general percentages for the amount of back swing used. However on PS4 with the current frame rate/swing issue I found it impossible to stop the club at the right place on a consistent basis. Hopefully HB will resolve the issue. It'll be much better using this method then adding loft, especially for the flop shot when you don't want back spin.

I agree with the flop shot however there can't be many that do this for the main shots! Would be ludicrous as to how little accuracy you can obtain compared to the slider. If you want 84% you can set 84% on the slider, if you try and do it with just shorter swing you will find yourself getting nowhere near for accuracy on the whole

Yeah, it would only be an option when back-spin isn't desirable such as a large slope running down to you from the hole. It's really only the flop shot which normally generates enough back-spin to be a concern.

It's really only the flop shot which normally generates enough back-spin to be a concern. For me this would be game-breaking if implemented for the long game as hitting 84% power 6-irons or 5-woods is completely unnatural and removes any resemblance of golf from the game. Except for being exaggerated (a lot) the grid is a good representation of how higher level golf is played. Playing around with reduced back-swings or holding back down-swing is among the most stupid things you can do in golf so making it viable in a "simulation" style game is equally stupid. Still worried about this "granular swing" update. Having a 110% option available with guaranteed variance makes a lot more sense as stepping on a shot is something that can be done. But should be a shot option - not by tweaking stick input.
