I'm trying to design my first "real" course after just screwing around with the creator on a few previous courses. I'm finding that I'm really overthinking a lot of stuff and it's making me go insanely slow in design.
I uploaded a vid to YouTube of the hole I'm working on. It's very preliminary, but for some reason I have this overwhelming feelings all the great designers here will think it sucks. There's no decoration yet...just the basic green, bunkers and fairway.
Check it out and let me know what you think...as to whether I should just scrap this and start over.

OK, I scrapped the old one.
Why? I'm by the freaking ocean. Who wouldn't put a clubhouse overlooking the ocean? So I started there and built a new first hole that climbs the hill by the helipad. Please, I'd love your feedback on it. This is my first "real" course and I want to do something that you guys might actually want to play.

It's all about sightlines I think, may just be me, however I believe most holes should be visible from the tee instead of a big wall in front.
Hobble creek had a few uphill tee shots that were done really well, in addition you should check out cannucks videos, they are great, they helped me a ton.

I'm basing mine off Canuck's videos. The hole will make sense in the overall layout, as 9 will come back up the hill so that both play off the fact the helipad is on the top of that hill. I actually asked Canuck about that hole last night. He's the one who suggested I extend the fairway over the hill's edge so you could see it.  Thanks for checking it out man. i would like to see those rocks go "poof be gone" otherwise, its a nice opening hole.
